Welcome to my first attempt at a homepage, not the greatest but I'm working on it! If you have any ideas...please let me know! I will try to update things as much as possible!

If your planning a trip to Hawaii and would like some information on dive boat charters, shore diving, discover scuba, openwater or advanced scuba certifications feel free to E-mail me at: KATRESQ27@AOL.COM

I'll also be more then happy to fill you in on the sights and conditions on Oahu and the neighboring islands. In the meanwhile, I'm including some basic shore dive spots on my homepage. There are some great places to try out on all our shorelines, but before you go....PLEASE make sure you check out the surf report: 596-SURF (7873) or contact a local dive shop! Mahalo for visiting. OAHU DIVE SPOTS:

1.) YO257 "Wreck" (Boat Dive): Located about a mile off shore from Waikiki Beach. The YO257 is a 174-foot long Yard Oiler. Depth at the bottom of the wreck reaches 100 feet. Variety of fish are always present and even the occasional Black Tip Reef Shark. This sight is a daily stop on for the "Atlantis" submarine. Be sure to say Aloha to all the amazed sightseers looking out the submarines windows (try not to get blinded by the camera flashes.) (**"Caution" be careful not to get too close to the submarine**) This is considered a intermediate dive, (there is sometimes a strong current).

2.) Turtle Canyon (Boat Dive) The reef here runs about 5 miles in length and is loaded with very tame Green Sea Turtles. A great stop to take some u/w photo's. Please be sure not to harrass the turtles in anyway, it is against the law and the fines are high if caught! Depth here ranges from 30 to 40 feet. Good place for all experience levels.

3.) Sharks Cove "Pupukea Beach County Park" (Shore Dive) Located on the north shore of Oahu. Diving here is mostly done from May to October. During most of the winter months the surf is too high. Sharks Cove is a marine conservation area so you are not allowed to remove anything from the water within the parks boundaries. Otherwise, the diving there is top-rated! You'll find multiple archways/passageways. Sealife includes huge eels and other tropical fish! The depth here varies from 30-50+ feet.

4.) Mahi "Wreck" (Boat Dive): A 185-foot long former minesweeper, sunk in 1982. It sits upright in about 95 feet of water. There are large schools of Lemon Butterflyfish and Taape at this sight, including commonly seen Eagle Rays. This is considered a intermediate dive.

Other misc. locations: 1.) Electric Beach (shore dive), good for all levels; you should bring a beach watch when diving this location! 2.) Makaha Beach (shore dive), beginner to advanced depending on water conditions. Great place for surfing and boarding also. 3.) Magic Island (shore dive), beginner to advanced. 4.) Pray for Sex Beach (shore dive), intermediate to advanced.
5.) Makaha Caverns (boat dive), all levels. 6.) Blowhole/Lanai Look-out (shore dive), this is a advanced location. Pay special attention to the surf report, before diving this location. 7.) Kewalo Pipe and Kahe Pipe (boat dive), all levels.

The pic's on this page were taken at Sharks Cove & Electric Beach, Oahu Hawaii, and from the bow of the Kahanaola (thanx for turnin the boat around Brian), "dolphin pic"!
Big Thanx to Randy "dive Bud", (RAT DOG DIVERS) for the great Green Sea Turtle pic & thanks to the people at Sealife Park for allowing ME to photograph their Hammerhead Shark!
