There are a few wild boar in the district which snow accumulates on deeply in winter.
There is vertical stripes pattern in the body, and a child called "Uri-bo" means gourd.

It is unusually seen in Hokkaido the north island of Japan. An original inhabiting stage is around the Arctic Circle.
