BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Twelve teams from seven schools got in a little extra work before the playoffs as the Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl held a practice tournament at Burlington High School on Jan. 3.

Official standings were not kept, but most of the matches were close and exciting -- with six decided by 20 points or less.

Participating schools were: Burlington, Champlain Valley, Colchester, Essex, Lamoille, Mt. Mansfield and Winooski.

Special thanks go out to numerous past Burlington players for moderating games.
