Philosophy and Getting Started
Masters Graduate Ceremony

Exercise is not just for athletes. You don't need special
equipment or a gym membership. All you need is the motivation to
do it. Fitness is fun and it's for YOU. Knowing the benefits
of exercise and realizing that it can be enjoyable may help get you going.
TOP TEN REASONS
TO MOVE YOUR BODY
10. RELIEVES STRESS AND ANXIETY
9. IMPROVES THE QUALITY OF SLEEP
8. REDUCES THE RISK OF HEART DISEASE
7. PREVENTS CERTAIN TYPES OF CANCER
6. ENHANCES SELF-IMAGE
5. RELIEVES DEPRESSION
4. IMPROVES MENTAL SHARPNESS
3. SLOWS DOWN THE AGING PROCESS
2. GIVES YOU MORE ENERGY
1. IT'S FUN
You can start with one of the first steps to health and
fitness RIGHT NOW. Begin to make peace with your body the way it
is today. This will help you maintain changes in eating and
exercise patterns for the long haul. Remember, bodies come in all
shapes and sizes, learn to appreciate your body for what it can do rather
than how it looks.
If I can help someone improve the quality of their life
by sharing the enjoyment and benefits of exercise I have had a great day.

Stress Relief
Ever felt like the man above looks?
I have. Try some of the tips below to reduce stress.
Get up 15 minutes earlier every morning.
The inevitable morning mishaps will be less stressful.
Say "no!" Saying "no" to extra projects,
social activities, and invitations you know you don't have the time or
energy for takes practice, self respect, and a belief that everyone, everyday,
needs quiet time to relax and be alone.
Don't forget to take a lunch break.
Try to get away from your desk or work area in body and mind, even if it's
just for 15 or 20 minutes.
Be prepared to wait. A paperback
or writing a letter to a friend can make a wait at the doctors office pleasant
and productive.
Relax your standards. The world
will not end if the grass doesn't get mowed or the sheets are changed on
Sunday instead of Saturday.
Ask questions. Taking a few moments
to repeat directions or what someone expects of you can save hours.
Have an optimistic view of the world.
Believe that most people are doing the best they can..
Do something you really enjoy everyday.
Take a cat nap.
