Married in 1971, Ken & I got our first collie in 1972. Kendras For The Love of Heidi Our first champion came from her. Ch. Kendras Kashane finished in 1978 and was a thrill to show, taking a Group 2 from the classes at the prestigious Heart of America Kennel Club when the herding and working group was combined. Our children were born in 1978 and 1979 so we didn't show very much for a while. After some major heartbreaks we were ready to quit. Then along came a very special collie. Her name…... the one who kept me going…...
Ch. Kendras Hearthrob, ROM. Co-bred with my sister, Pat Demery - Lochlane Collies, she finished in 1989 and one of her sons, a smooth, finished the day after. Since then we have had a lot of fun showing Cagney's offspring. Cagney passed away last year, the biggest heartbreak so far.
We have had our set backs over the years, but persistence, determination and love have always kept us coming back.
We have, in the past three years, slowed down considerably on showing for various personal reasons. This year I was approved to judge collies on a provisional basis and will be judging my first shows in January of 2000. I am looking forward to the new millennium and a new page in my life with the collies. We plan to show & breed occasionally. Our first litter in two years is due shortly after Christmas.
Though trials may be many, so are blessings. One without the other is meaningless.
The music on this page is
"Great is The Lord."
We thank Him for our friends, family and the beauty that has enriched our lives over the years.
