Glimmerling (Homo sapiens magicus)
Identification: The typical glimmerling is 1.4 meters tall and
weighs 42 kilograms. Coloration is pale pink to ebony, although there
have been individuals confirmed to have, such as, but not limited to,
blue, green, red, or purple. Females have 2 mammary, and all
glimmerlings have 32 teeth. Magicus is more slender and of
lighter build than sapiens, giving them reduced physical
endurance and somewhat reduced muscle strength. Glimmerlings have little
body hair, and never have beards; head hair, however, is thick and
either wavy or very straight, and almost always worn long. Natural
coloration of head hair can literally be any color of the spectrum.
The eyes, like those of elves, are almond-shaped, but the most
distinguishing characteristic of magicus is the ears; they are 15
centimeters long, coming to a definite point at a 70-degree angle away
from the head. The ears are also sensitive to higher frequencies than
most humans or metahumans can normally hear. Also of note is the
glimmerling aging process. They seem to physically age at half the rate
of humans until maturity and retain a very youthful appearance even
after maturity, often being mistaken for adolescents regardless of their
actual age.

Habitat: In urban areas, glimmerlings inhabit standard human
structures or makeshift dwellings of their own, often constructed as a
sort of treehouse or clubhose. In wilderness areas, they prefer to use
naturally created dwelling places, such as caves or large hollow trees,
although they sometimes live in constructed dwellings, but rarely of
their own making.

Habits: Glimmerlings can be, and usually are, active at any time.
Their diet is omnivorous, but with a preference for fruits. They tend
form small groups of friends within larger communities all over the
world but seem to have no problem interacting with other humans or
metahumans. Magicus also seems to show behavioral tendencies
sometimes being described as childish and irresponsible. The life
expectancy is unverified, with possible life spans of over a thousand
years, but metabolic studies are inconclusive. The glimmerling breeding
season is unrestricted. The gestation period is 390 days.

Young: Either one or three, but never twins. Birth weight is 4.8
percent of mother's weight. Suckling time is more than 25 months.

Commentary: The sensitivity of glimmerlings' eyes to the infrared
portion of the spectrum allows almost unrestricted activity after dark.
They also have innate magic. This varies widely from individual to
individual, and does not seem to follow any hereditary pattern.

Gaming Notes

Racial Maximums: Body: 4; Quickness: 7; Strength: 5; Charisma: 8;
Intelligence: 6; Willpower: 7; Essence: 7; Magic: 7; Reaction: 6

Racial Modifications: -2 Body, +1 Quickness, -1 Strength, +2
Charisma, +1Willpower, +1 Essence (+1 Magic),

Powers: Thermographic Vision, High Frequency Hearing, Innate Magic**

Weaknesses: All glimmerlings have vulnerability (severe) to Iron.

Other Notes: Glimmerlings' Essence loss for any cyberware is doubled.
Glimmerlings are hated more than other metahumans by the Humanis
Policlubs because of their innate magic.
Glimmerlings are usually looked upon as children due to their
youthful appearance and tendencies towards carefree and somewhat
irresponsible behavior, but are usually respected by those who have
dealt with them before.

**Innate Magic: Choose either 1 Critter power or a number of
spells with a total Force equal to the glimmerling's modified Essence
(if Essence has been reduced, i.e. by Cyberware, etc), rounded down,
with a maximum of Force of 4 per spell. Glimmerlings do not suffer
drain for spells purchased through innate magic, but do suffer drain for
other spells they learn as magicians.

Vampeal
A Vampeal is somebody that is half vampire and half human. Normally this would not be possible but the ordo maximius and HMHVV 2 have changed the face of bloodsuckers forever. It has been proven that HMHVV has different effects on different species and races, and that these can be isolated and added to other forms of HMHVV through genetic engineering (see page 35 "Threats"). Some of these are reproduction, resistance to magic and fire, regeneration, and the loss of the vulnerability to sunlight. A Vampeal can drain essence but doesn't have to because they do not suffer from essence loss. Also, a Vampeal may eat normal food and not experience ill side effects. Vampeals are slightly resistant to magic. This is illustrated by allowing the Vampeal to add dice to its rolls to resist spells. The total number of extra dice rolled can not be more than the Vampeal's essence rating. Vampeals are also resistant to fire. This is shown in the same way as its resistance to magic. All known Vampeals are human (no elves, dwarves, orks, or trolls). This seems to be another side effect of the HMHVV. The HMHVV seems to prevent goblinization in the infected person. If a Vampeal infects something with HMHVV, the thing being effected gains the entire effects of the disease and becomes the corresponding spices (Banshee, Wendigo, etc.).

Warewolves
Warewolves are mearly wolf shape shifters that have been infected with the HMHVV virus. Warewolves recieve two regeneration rolls for being a shapeshifter and another for being a vampire. When injured, a warewolf must make a willpower test (6). If it fails, the warewolf will immediatly changes into wolf form and attack the person that wounded it. Warewolves are very rare and very deadly. Vampire hunters are looking for warewolves more and more often because they are a larger threat. Add the vampire stats to the wolf shapeshifter stats for warewolf stats.

Essence drain
Enhanced sences (Hearing, sight, smell, low-light vision)
