Welcome to KlavierSpiel magazine, a non-profit, electronic periodical dedicated to teachers, students and devotees of the piano. Since this is KlavierSpiel's premire issue, we are going to present something special, a departure from what will consitute our regular format, a departure from a norm which has not yet even been unveiled for our audience. (If you would like a look at what our regular format will be like you can follow this link for a preview peek.) |
What we want you to enjoy right now is the following presentation. It is one of those nuggets you can only find by accident, that comes along once in a lifetime. It involves one of the greatest and best loved pianist/composers of this century (those are his hands on the keybaord above), one of the most famous pieces he, or any other composer for that matter, ever wrote, one of his least well-known pieces, and the relationship between the two. And, as far as we have been able to discover, this relationship has not been documented anywhere... except here, that is. The musical examples in this article require a RealAudio player. If you have not downloaded a free RealAudio player, you can do so here. Play any C# on the keyboard above and you'll be on your way... |
