OLD VW'S NEVER DIE, THEY JUST MUTATE!!!! All I know about this thing is Its a 1971 1600cc dual port beetle engine/chassis, there are no brakes (the master cylinder is dry) it needs just a LITTLE electrical work, and it leaks oil like Niagara Falls!! But its not bad for $100!!......July '98 Here is an account of most of the steps I've taken to bring this buggy back to life.. I've tried to take as many pictures as possible, so I have an account of exactly what all I have accomplished.. This is one of the most expensive one-hundred dollar cars in history!!!!
WEIRD lookin' HUH? It kinda looks like Eddy Munster's car when the top is on.
For those of you with sharp eyes..that IS the ignition switch laying on the passenger side "door", No there are no seats, and yes that is a teak steering wheel!!
Heres an up close pic of the engine before i did any work to it. Since I took this I bead blasted and painted all the fake, rusted chrome, black, fixed the oil leak (turned out to be the aftermarket oil cooler), and cleaned off all the grease and grime. Also when I took the heads off I found out that the heads, pistons and cylinders are BRAND new, and probably have less that 500 miles on them!!!!!! And much thanks to Troy White (hey YOU wanted your name mentioned.. now its plastered on the Internet) without him I never would have gotten this thing running without spending lots of cash at a garage.. I'll be updating the page soon, I bought paint, brakes, finished the electrical work. March 08 1999 Click here to see a couple of updated pictures <~~the site hasnt been updated in a while, but as soon as i get new pictures I'll be sure to post them.. 09 MAY 2000
