My name is Katherine. I have a very rare blood disorder called Acute Intermittent Porphyria. This rare blood disorder is very hard to detect and often under-diagnosed.
It is genetic, meaning that it is passed down throughout the generations.
There are eight different types of Porphyria, each predisposed to their own symptoms.
I will briefly describe the type of Porphyria that I have and then below, send you too some excellent sites that will help you if you think that you, or someone you love, may be suffering with one or more of the Porphyrias.I am not an expert on the disease, I just have it.
The sites I have listed below are the websites of people who have Porphyria.
There are also sites that are written by doctors that have dedicated their lives to the study of Porphyria.
Please check them out and sign their guest books. They have worked extremely long and hard on these pages to inform and help those who have Porphyria, and those who may have a friend or family member suffering from Porphyria.
Thank-You.
