***** UPDATE
We are looking into going with a different fire truck maker. We have not had too much success with Ferrara Fire Apparatus from Louisiana. We purchased 4 over 2 ½ yrs & have had problems with all of them & many problems still persist.
UPDATE YOU ON A FEW ITEMS 3-22-02:
1. New Station 4 slab was poured today.
2. Station 5 ambulance bay addition finished. Should be ready to move in next week.
3. 2 new ambulances are on council agenda for April 2. Should be ready to put into service in about 3-4 months Don't know where they are going yet, but I have had plenty of recommendations. Mostly from station 5, 6, and 7
4. Tabletop exercise on Weapons of mass destruction completed a couple of weeks ago. They are telling us that the final exam will be a simulated WMD exercise sometime in the fall. (Which will be the lucky shift that gets to do the exercise) I will be going to Lubbock next week to watch their evolution to give us a feel of what to expect.
5.Citizens fire academy winding down. Only a couple more weeks. Great Job Station 3 "A" for your work!!!
6. Physical agility make up tenatively set for May 3. Waiting on approval from school district to use Williams stadium
7. Hepatitis shots winding down
8. Physicals for those with birthdays in May, June, July and August set to begin in May..
9. Preparations for pump operations class in the process of being developed.
