We have been cat lovers all of our lives, but became interested in Maine Coons in1990 (due to a certain cat named "Zydeco"), who's picture we saw in the paper. We fell in love with him. We were hooked. We got our first "Coonie" shortly thereafter. "Lafitte "was our first Maine Coon. More and more soon followed. We started breeding in 1993 , with our first queen Adelaide. Our desire here at Coquille is to produce good, healthy kittens. We breed for quality, not quantity. We produce only a few litters per year. Our kittens have the run of the house . This we believe is helpful in preparing them for their future homes. We show them the do's and don'ts to give them a start in the right direction toward household behavior. The only time our cats are caged is in the event of an illness, and during the last week of a pregnancy.
We are located in Lafitte, Louisiana which is about 11 or so miles south of New Orleans. We have been living here since 1984. It is great down here. Good people, good food, and good fishing are just some of the reasons we chose to live here. In closing let us say again that we hope you enjoyed our site, and hope to hear from you in the future.
