The Lakeshire Police Department is committed to Community
Oriented Policing. There are eleven commissioned Officers including the
Chief and one Sergeant. All Officers are certified by the Missouri Police
Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST).
The department provides 24-hour patrol and is staffed by
seasoned professionals. Most of the Officers are retired from large police
departments and have a background in a variety of uniform patrol, investigations,
and forensics experience. There are no rookies on this force, so rest
assured, if you call, the Officers responding have training or experience in
every type of emergency situation.
The Department is committed to community policing and
providing personal service. We provide a tremendous amount of problem
solving on an informal basis. Let us know if we can assist you.
The Lakeshire Police Department takes a proactive approach
to preventing crime. A long-standing partnership exists between the
citizens and the police officers. Residents are encouraged to report any
suspicious persons or activity. All complaints are investigated
immediately with a normal response time of three minutes or less.
The police department is dispatched through an enhanced 911
system operated by the St. Louis County Police Communications Division. For
non-emergency police response, citizens can contact our dispatch service at
314-889-2341. Our office number is 314-631-4670. Please leave a
message if no Officers are in the station.

The department has state-of-the art computer equipment and
technology. The new police cars have Mobile Data Terminals capable of
communicating with the dispatcher, police office, and County Police field units.
People and vehicles can be entered into the system from the car to obtain
license information, fugitive, and arrest status. Photos can be downloaded
in seconds.
We participate in operation “Child Safe”, a nationwide
firearms safety education and gunlock program. Free gunlocks are available
to residents. There is no charge, no questions asked, and no strings
attached!
Going on vacation or away for a few days?
The police department will check your residence three times a day. Be sure
to stop your mail. If unexpected packages are left at your door the
Officers will bring them to the station awaiting your return. Newspapers are
picked-up and flyers are removed.
Please complete a
Vacation Check form. The form
can be downloaded from this site or picked-up at the Community Center. Place the
completed form in the mail slot in the front door of the Community Center.
Owners of multi family apartment units are counseled on the
best methods for tenant screening and selection. Call the Chief to make an
appointment to discuss the best industry standards.
The department will soon acquire an Automatic External
Defibrillator (AED) a life saving tool used to restart the heart in the event of
cardiac arrest. A few moments can mean the difference between life and
death. Since the police response is a few minutes faster than our fine
ambulance service, those moments can mean the difference between life and death.
