The speed limit on streets is 25mph and alleys is 15mph.  These speed limits are strictly enforced.

Power mowers and other power equipment may only be used from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Grass and weeds may not exceed 7 inches in height.

All dogs must be kept on a leash (Leash Law).

Animal waste must be picked-up and properly disposed of immediately by the pet’s owner (Pooper Scooper Law).

Only two (2) domestic animals are allowed per household.

Occupancy inspections and permits are required whenever there is a change of residency of a household (house or apartment).

Trash and trash containers may not be placed at the curb until the evening before scheduled pick-up and must be removed by noon the day after trash pick-up.  This ordinance also applies to yard waste. For more information, please see the waste services portion of this site.

No vehicle may remain parked on a city street in excess of 72 hours.

All vehicles on private property must be parked on a paved surface.

Permits are required for Garage Sales.  The cost is $1.00 and forms can be downloaded from this site or picked-up at the Community Center Information Box.  Each household is allowed two sales in a calendar year.  Only two signs advertising the sale are permitted.

Helmets are required for persons under 17 years of age riding bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, and in-line skates.  Fines are the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.

A permit is required for peddlers, solicitors, and distribution of handbills/advertisements.

Any vehicle, which is not properly licensed or is not operable, is considered an Abandoned/Derelict vehicle and is subject to being towed.  This applies to both public and private property.  This ordinance is strictly enforced.
