Recent Improvements to Crossroads Park

Our old flag pole was damaged beyond repair a few weeks ago by a thunderstorm. We had a new one donated by Sandi's mother, Betty. Click on any picture for a full size version.

I don't have permission to post the name of the person donating the shed, so I won't. He's a fine man, former Marine and has a Bearish nickname. Stop by the park and meet our fine bear Marine!

The next step is trenching the conduits. I want to lay about 200' of 3/4" rigid conduit. I need a good trench. Dean and Steve finish the trench the Keith started. Keith brought a trencher to assist us. A 4" thick sidewalk temporarily stood in our way. Dean went to town on it! We finished all the 3/4" rigid conduit the next day!

Sandi ordered stone for the parking lot. Ray delivered it. Here are pics of Dean spreading it out. Dean always seems to be working at the park. Sandi, Kathy, and Les are working on the landscaping. Scott is preparing the horse shoe pit. I am glad to call them my friends and fellow railfans! Sometimes we even see a train at the Park when we're working! This one is the Q245. Normally the Q245 runs through Fostoria and turns south at Deshler. Today she came via Bates on the Toledo Sub.

On August 24, 2000 the power pole was set. That night we began to wire it to the shed. By Friday Night we had power to one outlet and one light, as the village powered us up!
