This image is a composite of two separate Landsat scenes. I used image processing software to enhance and remapped three spectral bands of data to simulate a true color view of the land. The infrared data makes the water appear black for better visibility of inland lakes and streams.
My completed file was 4000 by 5000 pixels and was used to produce a 16 by 20 inch photograph. I had to greatly reduce the resolution for this on-screen reproduction (the actual file size is 58 megabytes, this screen resolution image is only 80 kilobytes).
NOTE: This image will take a minute or so to download to your computer. It is an interlaced jpeg file so you will see it progressively appear on your screen in 3 passes, from course resolution to fine resolution.

I hope you enjoyed the view!
