LARRY CHRISTENSON is the author of a number of books and articles on family life and spiritual renewal. His bestseller, The Christian Family, has sold more than two million copies, with translations into more than a dozen languages. His book, Ride the River, uses the epic journey of Lewis and Clark as a parable of one’s “life journey.”   His most recent book, The Mantle of Esther, teaches principles of intercessory prayer based on the story of Esther in the Old Testament. He has also developed a software program, QwikMacro, for writers and editors.


He and his wife, Nordis, have traveled extensively in the United States and overseas, speaking at family life conferences, in colleges and seminaries, and in congregations on the renewal of family and congregational life.

He graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College and Luther Theological Seminary, both in Minnesota. He served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, San Pedro, California for 22 years. From 1983 he served as Director of the International Lutheran Renewal Center, St. Paul, Minnesota, retiring in 1995.

The Christensons have four married children, 18 grandchildren. In retirement they continue to speak and write on family life and spiritual renewal. They make their home in Minnesota.
