• Francis could speak both Irish and English. His elder bachelor brother, Owen, lived with him in Fallagh Upper. Francis was widowed by 1901. The nickname for our Devlins was "the Heckler", which related to the heckling of wool.
  
• Francis ("The Heckler") DEVLIN died in 1922, in the nearby townland of Lenagh at his daughter, Ann (Devlin) McCullagh's home.
