Wedding Videos
There are basically four major issues to consider in planning your wedding video: how it will look (and sound), what coverage will you get, what it will cost, and what you will get.
But First !!! - What You Won't Get
I get a huge response from this web-page. A good percentage of those inquiries lead to contracts, based solely on my demo tape and my price. Unlike others, I don't need to hound my brides over the phone trying to force a decision. Preparing for your wedding should be a positive experience not like a trip to a used car dealer. Have fun !
How It Will Look ( And Sound )
I use a Sony DCR VX 2000 3 chip Digital Handycam ( which produces television quality digital images ) for filming the wedding.
Some footage from one of my weddings appeared on ABC's Inside Edition on October 3, 2000 ( the dog ate the wedding ring ).
For editing I have two computers and use Adobe Photoshop for editing images and Adobe Premier for editing video. These combine audio and video in a unique way to create a kind of movie about the wedding.
But, the best way to find out what it will look and sound like is to take a look at my demo tape. It lasts about 3/4 of an hour. E-mail me at lawlerent@aol.com . Include your name and address and the date and location of the wedding and I will send you a copy of the tape at no obligation to you.
What Coverage Will You Get
I will arrive at the ceremony about an hour before it starts and I will stay at the reception to the end.
What It Will Cost
The price will be $2,000.00 plus $100.00 Massachusetts sales tax. This price applies only to weddings held in the Metropolitan Boston area. Weddings outside that area would be priced to include travel time and expenses - email me the details of the wedding and I will send you a quote.
What You Will Get
This is what you get:
- Raw Footage - the day after the wedding I make a copy of the raw footage on VHS tape so the Bride and Groom have something to look at when they return from their honeymoon. This goes in the mail that day.
- Final Cut - three copies - recorded on standard VHS tape or DVD, edited down to roughly two hours. The final content is really up to you, but here is a suggestion:
- Opening slideshow - series of slides, usually of couple growing up, wedding invitation, etc. This lasts the length of one piece of music provided by you. The number of slides is not specifically limited except by the length of the music.
- Edited ceremony and reception video
- Closing slideshow - stills from the film, honeymoon pictures, etc. Length of one piece of music provided by you.
