Park Street: Proposal toad a 13’x 24’

opposition, minor dimensional relief required.
The Zoning Sub-Committee recommended approval. No vote was taken because this already has
gone before the zoning board and was approved.
21-23
Sprint Street: Proposal to erect a 10’x
12’ precast shed
The shed
is to house lawnmowers, snowblowers, etc. No opposition, minor dimensional relief
required. The Zoning Sub-Committee
recommended approval.
A motion to recommend disapproval passed unanimously.
Basic Services
Fontaines has been sold. Not sure what the new owners plan for the
restaurant. The new owners are scheduled
to come to the next Neighborhood Council meeting.
Chestnut Hill Reality plans to build an apartment building
on Edgemere Road. Chestnut Hill Reality showed their initial
plans at a local neighborhood meeting.
No one was in favor of the proposal.
Chestnut Hill Reality will revise the plans, and re-release the proposal
this fall. The proposal will probably
fall under the BRA Article 80 review.
The Parkway Family Day honoring Korean War veterans will
be held June 26th at Millennium
Park.
John Tobin on the New School Choice Plan
John Tobin gave a quick background on the task force that
has been working to revise the current school choice program. The task force will present eight possible
school choice plans. Although Councillor
Tobin praised the work of the task force, he is not backing any of the eight
proposals. Instead Councillor Tobin is
proposing a plan that increases the walk zone preference radius and makes the existing lottery system more fair and easier to
understand.
New Business
According to the Mayors Office Neighborhood Representative,
Jay Walsh, bids to do the work on Centre
Street are due back soon, and work should begin in
the second or third week of June.
