Committee Reports

Zoning

The following items where discussed at the October 20th meeting of the Zoning Sub-Committee.

343 Grove Street: Proposal to add rear addition.

Only slight dimensional relief requested.  No opposition.  The Sub-Committee recommended approval.

A motion to recommend approval passed unanimously.

7 Gloria Road: Proposal to add rear addition and basement storage.

Rear yard dimensional relief requested.  No opposition.  The Sub-Committee recommended approval.

A motion to recommend approval passed unanimously.

4843 Washington Street:  Proposal, previously reviewed, to change non-owner occupied two-family to a non-owner occupied three-family.

Neighborhood concerns included parking and change to forbidden use.  WRCIA voted not to support based on parking and the desire not to set a precedent for approving conversions to three family homes.  The Sub-Committee recommended disapproval.

A motion to recommend disapproval passed unanimously.

94-96 Keystone Street: Proposal to tear down house and barn and construct two single family homes.

The lot size of each was less then 6,000 square feet and the new lots would have frontages of less than 40 feet.  The Sub-Committee recommended disapproval.

A motion to recommend disapproval passed unanimously.

36 Shaw Street: Proposal to permit four child accessory day care program on second floor of two family.

Two-family is non-conforming use in neighborhood.  Neighborhood concern related to increased traffic. The Sub-Committee recommended disapproval.

A motion to recommend disapproval passed unanimously.

Basic Services

The Main Streets outing at Roxbury Latin was a big success.  Main Streets will hold its annual meeting November 8th at the Elks Lodge.  They are looking for one or two more members on the board.

New Business

New Police Commissioner Kathleen O'Toole plans to speak at the February meeting of the Neighborhood Council.

The Neighborhood Council requests that the Police Department re-institute giving police reports at our meetings similar to what Sgt. Chambers use to present.
