From: Legionair
This is an incomplete, preliminary list of places of interest in the universe of Star Trek: Future Champions. I concede that it isn't very long, but it should give you a general idea of what I have in mind for the background to this game.
As always, please ask any specific questions you might have, no matter how trivial you think they might be. I'm very open to new ideas, new concepts, radical changes, or off the wall ideas. I consider every idea extremely useful.
So, in other words, give me feedback!
===================
What's Where in the Star Trek: Future Champions Universe
EARTHBOUND LOCATIONS:
[Note: 90% of Earth is under the New United Nations government. Most of the
locations listed below are not part of the governing body.]
ATLANTIS: The ruins of Atlantis (the twin cities of Tritonis and Poseidonis)
are now part of a large underwater museum. No Atlantean has been seen on
Earth since before the third World War. Whether they were all killed as a
result of the war or somehow left the planet is a subject under much
debate.
[Source: DC Comics Universe.]
MEDICUS ONE: A medical starbase in permenant geosyncronis orbit around Earth.
Considered the best provider of Terran medical aid. Also caters to non-Terran
races, to a lesser degree.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. This starbase might be useful to players designing
medical doctors or biology scientists.]
ZANDIA: The island nation of Zandia (located between the islands of Sicily
and Sardinia) is tiny but has become a source of much concern to the New
United Nations. Zandia is not a member of the New United Nations and is also
on very poor terms with the governing body. Zandia is home to the Church
of Blood, a cult that has been recruiting young members from all over Earth
for hundreds of years. The leader of the Church of Blood, as well as Zandia,
is a mysterious man who calls himself Brother Blood. Rumors abound of Brother
Blood's puppets in the New United Nations, Starfleet, and the United Federation
of Planets.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. Brother Blood and his church has had numerous
confrontations with the New Titans, as well as other metas.]
PLANETS:
COLU: The planet Colu lies outside Federation space and takes no interest
in Federation affairs. The governing body of Colu are referred to as the
"Computer Tyrants of Colu." Recent recons onto Colu has revealed that the
"Tyrants" are actually sentient machines. The natives of Colu are humanoid,
exhibit a greenish tinted skin, and are of extremely high intellect. They
are also, for the most part, entirely in the thrall of the "Tyrants."
[Source: DC Comics Universe. The Superman villian Brainac was originally
from Colu, as was the Legion of Superheroes' Braniac 5.]
DAXAM: Recently discovered planet just within the Shapely Center Zone of
Intense Radiation (which is located towards the center of the Milky Way Galaxy).
The population of Daxam are extremely xenophobic. The population of Daxam
are also mortally allergic to anything made of lead. These two factors combined
have made it rare that any Daxamite ever leaves Daxam. The governing body
of Daxam is friendly with the United Federation of Planets, but has no wish
to go any further than friendly relations. The Shapely Zone also makes it
very hazardous for any spacecraft to travel to Daxam.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. Mon'El and Laurel Gand were both Daxamites.
All Daxamites possess powers similar to Superman, but at a slightly lower
level.]
DURLA: Durla is a neutral world within Federation space. Durlan culture and
technology use to be very open and advanced only a few hundred years ago.
This came to an end as a result of a world wide "six-minute war." The result
devastated the planet and the population. Whole sectors of the planet became
inhosbitable from hard radiation. The culture descended to a stagnant tribal
level and has remained that way. Most Durlans are born deformed and mutated
from the background radiation, but they've also evolved very advanced
shapeshifting abilities to combat the harsh environment. The Durlan's have
one of the most xenophobic societies in known space. The planet Durla is
off limits to all off worlders and is regularly patrolled by Federation
ships.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. Chameleon Boy of the Legion of Superheroes is
a Durlan. All Durlans should be designed around a 20 to 40 point Shape Shift
Power Pool. Durlans are also suggested to have Social Status disadvantages.]
IMSK: Imsk happens to be one of the oddest planets within Federation space,
the entire planet is shrinking. The shrinking is only a few hundred miles
in diameter a year, but shrinking none the less. Apparently, because of this,
the natives of Imsk are also able to shrink themselves. Imsk is also a member
planet of the United Federation of Planets.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. Shrinking Violet of the Legion of Superheroes
is from Imsk. Any Imsk characters should be designed around 20 to 40 points
worth of Shrinking. This Shrinking should be at 1/2 Endurance. Imsk society
also has an under current that dislikes the outside influance generated by
the United Federation of Planets.]
KRYPTON: The reminents of Krypton are rumored to be in the vicinity of Daxam, if not closer to the heart of the galaxy.
NALTOR: The people of Naltor can actually weild magic, though they also embrace
high technology. This is the one planet in Federation space that melds both
technologies together for use. Naltor is also a member planet of the United
Federation of Planets.
[Source: DC Comics Universe. Nura Nal (Dream Girl) and Myssa Nal (White Witch)
of the Legion of Superheroes are both from Naltor. Characters designed as
Naltor natives should be designed around a 20 to 30 point Magic Power Pool.]
OA: The remains of Oa have been positively located just beyond Federation space and before the Shapely Zone. Evidence of a new Oa, headquarters for a new Green Lantern Corps, abound.
PROMETHEAN GALAXY: Very few humans have ever seen this, if it even exists
at all. At the very edge of the known universe exists a wall made up of gigantic
faces, around which floats huge humanoid stone bodies. Behind the wall is
said to be the "Source" and the faces are the images of those who attempted
to penetrate through the wall to get to the source. Whether the Promethean
Galaxy exits at all is a source of much conjecture.
[Source: The DC Universe. Appeared many times in the Fourth World series
of comics (the New Gods, the Forever People, etc.) and getting to the Source
has been a long standing quest of both Metron and Darkseid.]
RANN: The planet Rann is located near Alpha Centauri and is a member planet
of the United Federation of Planets. The inhabitants of Rann are identical
to Terrans.
[Source: The DC Universe. Adam Strange of Rann was originally from Earth
before being transported to Rann in the 20th Century.]
TALOK VIII: The planet Talok VIII is the only habitable planet orbiting the
binary star system of Talok. Most of Talok VIII is an inhospitable, arid
desert. The natives of Talok VIII are identical to Terrans, except for their
bluish tinted skin. Out of every generation on Talok VIII a champion is born,
able to wield powers over shadows.
[Source: The DC Universe. Lyrissa Mallor of L.E.G.I.O.N. and Shadow Lass
of the Legion of Superheroes were both from Talok VIII.]
THANAGAR: The planet Thanagar orbits the sun Polaris and is a member planet
of the United Federation of Planets. The society of Thanagar became decadedent
and stagnant during the late 20th Century and went into collapse. Thanagar
is slowly trying to rebuild is social and economic status. The wingmen of
Thanagar have become nothing more than a legend of Thanagar's past glory.
[Source: The DC Universe. Hawkman II (Kator Hall) and Hawkwoman were both
wingman from Thanagar.]

Here is yet another incomplete planet/city/dimension list. Eventually I will put all of these together into one cohesive file, but I don't want to hold the game up for it.
PLACES OF NOTE (EARTH BOUND):
=============================
ATLANTIS: Once the fabled twin cities of Poseidonis and Tritonis lie at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. Both disappeared sometime during World War III with no clues as to their final fate. Ruins at the bottom of the Atlantic, presumed to be of Atlantean origin, is the site of an underwater park open to the public and research sites funded by the Earth Government.
BEWITCHED: A nightclub in San Francisco, California, just a handful of miles from Starfleet Headquarters. Privately owned and operated continuously since the early 1900s, if not earlier. On the surface it appears to be just another retro-bar, but any magically inclined PCs would know better.
JAPAN: Neo-Tokyo from just about every cyberpunk cliché. No standardized
government. Japanese based corporations own the land, rule the people, and
battle for territory in Japan and in space. The only major power on Earth
not part of the Earth Government. (See Neo-Tokyo from Akira, in
particular.)
Inhabitants of note: Batman seen within Japan's computerized cyber-net (see
Batman: Digital Justice). The very influential computer synth pop star Sharon
Apple was created in Japan (see Macross Plus).
THE PARLIAMENT OF TREES: Said to be located somewhere in the rainforests of Brazil. Any elementally inclined PC would know more about it. Some magically inclined PCs might as well.
PLANETS OF NOTE:
================
ALPHA CENTAURI: Home to a species apparently descending from people removed from Greek society during the 3rd century BC. Later home to Zefram Cochrane.
ANDOR: Homeworld to the Andorians. Featured in the Star Trek episode "The Road to Babel" and others.
ANTOS IV: The inhabitants of Antos IV (called Antosians) were skilled in matter reorganization of an atomic level. The teaching of this power to Captain Garth of Starfleet drove him mad and caused him to order his starship to bombard the planet's surface. Garth was subsquently imprisioned in the penal colony of Elba II. The entire population was presumed to be massacred, but rumors circulate of some survivors. (This is a combonation of the planet Antos IV (reffered to in the episode "Whom The Gods Destroy") and the planet Trom (which was the homewold of the LSH's Element Lad/Alchemist).)
CAIT: The inhabitants of Cait are feline humanoid in nature (Caitians). It is unknown whether the Caitians hold more in common with other feline humanoid races like the Kzinti. Featured in a number of animated Star Trek episodes.
RIGEL VIII: Homeworld to the pirate league of Orion.
TELLAR: Homeworld to the Tellarites. Featured in the Star Trek episode "The Road to Babel," among others.
VULCAN: If you've seen any episode of Star Trek, you know what this planet is. Vulcan shares a trojan orbit with volcanic Charis. Charis' single moon has recently been ruled off limits by the High Council of Vulcan. The High Council has not offered a reason or explanation for this situation and is not likely to any time soon.
Planets with a humanoid race almost exactly the same as Earth: Argelius II, Catulla, Deneb II, Mu Leonis II, Rigel VII (neanderthal society), Tiburon.
Starfleet colony worlds (of various sizes and ages):
Aldebaran, Alpha III, Daran V, Deneb IV, Deneb V (Starfleet training), Izar,
Marcos XII, Merak II, Rigel II, Vega IX (Starfleet colony).
Other Earth colony worlds:
Rigel IV (Neo-Tokyo colony).
DIMENSIONS OF NOTE:
[I will not give detailed explanations of these dimensions. Most player characters would not be familiar with any of them, except Earth's. If your character does have a reason for knowing about another dimension, please explain why.]
The following dimensions are centered about the Earth dimension; the Green (Swamp Thing), the Astral Plane, and the Dreaming (Sandman). The following pocket dimensions also fall somewhere within these structures; Apokolips & New Genesis (the New Gods), Bgtzl (LSH's Phantom Girl/Apparition), the Controller's Dimension (LSH), Darkworld, the Hidden Land, Mera's World (Aquaman), Themyscira (Wonder Woman's Paradise Island), and Skartaris (the Warlord).
The following pocket dimensions are structured around the Realm of Faerie; Azarath (Zatara, Zatana, the New Teen Titan's Raven, Trigon), Gemworld (Amethyst), the Land of Nightshades, Myrra, the Other Side of the World, and Zrfff.
The following pocket dimensions are structured around the Domain of Reason; the Meta-Zone, the Phantom Zone (Superman), Qward (Green Lantern), and Teall.
The following pocket dimensions are structured around the Realm of the Dead; Heaven, Hell (both of which as seen in the Sandman comics), Mount Olympus (home of the Roman and Greek gods, vacant since the early 1990s when Darkseid of Apokolips attempted to subjugate it), Asgard (home of the Norse gods), Limbo, the Domain of the Lords of Order & Chaos (Hawk & Dove, Dr. Fate), the Grey Path, and Heliopolis (home of the Egyptian gods).
Numerous other dimensions and pocket dimensions exist that have not been explored by human eyes.
