STAR TREK: FUTURE CHAMPIONS (MOVE 3.0)
"To Put Aside Your Toys"
"Observer..." the Admiral muses out loud and then turns back around to face the auditorium. "Let me make this clear; this division was not created to serve as a sight seeing service for anyone."
"As an 'observer,'" the Admiral goes on to say, looking directly at Michael now. "As an observer you will fill in where ever the Janus might be short-handed. I will also expect regular 'observation' reports."
"Do you see that?" Leslie whispers to Kendra as Koth Amos enters the auditorium. Leslie is staring quite blatantly and wide eyed at the new arrival.
The Admiral, on the other hand, looks less than impressed. He reaches into his pocket and takes out a small pocket watch. The cover flips open and he takes a short glance at the clock face before looking back up at Koth.
He clicks the cover closed again as Koth takes his seat. He says nothing about the situation though, not that words were really necessary.
The Admiral then moves to the side of the auditorium with Captain Cochrane. The Admiral seems to take a moment to collect his thoughts before saying anything, but before that can happen, Jon'Ar speaks up.. Once again Willett is silent as Michael speaks up concerning his role on the Janus.
"In the future, " Willett finally says, looking back towards Cochrane, "I would prefer that you saved the questioning of my decisions to after the meeting his concluded."
The Admiral then turns and heads back to the front of the auditorium, leaving Cochrane and company on their own to decide if they want to retake their seats or not.
"Everyone's comments and suggestions have been duly noted and taken into consideration." he says slowly, clicking the view screen to a plain black screen. "My decisions and the duty roster stands."
He tapes away on the control panel to the view screen and a stellar map pops up on the screen. After a few more keystrokes, the screen zooms in on a relatively unremarkable patch of space near the Romulan border.
"That, gentlemen and ladies, is stellar body K-13. Up until a week a go, a standard Class III yellow star." The Admiral says, looking up from the control panel now. "We have recently lost contact with the Starfleet science vessel, the Hartford. The Hartford is a Galaxy class starship with a crew of approximately 500 people. Right now we are assuming the Hartford lost."
He pauses for a second, his eyes canning across the auditorium, "K-13 began exhibiting abnormal sunspot and flare activity three weeks ago which was steadily increasing in magnitude. The Hartford was dispatched on a routine research and observation mission. Shortly after it arrived at K-13, we lost contact. It was assumed that contact was lost as a result of the background radiation from the star."
"The Trafalgar was dispatched yesterday from Starbase 18, to establish short range communication with the Hartford." the Admiral pauses long enough to tap out a few more keys on the control panel. "These were the images the Trafalgar transmitted back."
An unsteady image appears on the screen showing a star, presumably K-13, at very long range. The star is emitting pulses of light which coincide with static discharges across the screen. It hardly looks like a Class III star though. The surface is flashing between yellow and orange, with occasional surges of white. Not to mention that it's bloated to almost twice it's proper size.
"This was as close as the Trafalgar could get to K-13. It's sensor scans were negative for a sign of the Hartford." A few more keystrokes ands the image zooms in on the star. "The radiation was interfering with the sensor scans, but in all likeliness, the Hartford is gone."
"Captain Atom, Sho'taki, and Paragon are to proceed to K-13 in advance to make an initial recon. They will rendezvous with the Janus en route to K-13." Admiral Willett says, almost as an unquestionable order.
"Kendra Galt is to report to the Janus immediately and inspect the medical facilities and medial personnel. Koth Amos is to report to the Janus as well, for inspection of the security facilities and personnel." The Admiral pauses long enough to collect his thoughts for a second. "Biehl, where ever she might be, is to report immediately to the Janus as well. The automated engineering controls need to be inspected."
"Gar Kyrrk, Vhotir, Albert Dagon, and Leslie Cathasach are to report to the Janus by 1500 hours for inspection by myself and the President at 1600 hours. The Janus will depart for K-13 at 2100 hours provided the inspection checks out okay. Dismissed." The Admiral then turns off the view screen and releases the shades, allowing sunlight back into the room.
He looks to Jon'Ar now,. "Take a walk with me, will you?" he asks, and then turns and walks towards the auditorium door. He pauses for a second and then taps the communications panel.
"Please have Counsellor Einri report to my office immediately, as well as Engineer Biehl." he says into the panel before heading out into the hallway.

Blues slide toward Michael Sinclair as he approaches with his offered handshake, which is interupted by Admiral Willet's reply to the Darkstar Liason. Jon'Ar doesn't immediately reply, preferring to let the Admiral have his say.
When the Admiral chastises Cochrane, Jon'Ar inclines his head slightly, "My pardons Captain," he says flatly. The gesture is not a cringe, or a wince, for the man seems incapable of that, but an internal concession that he is responsible for the Admiral's rebuke.
When the full debriefing gets underway, Jon'Ar will remain in the aisle towards the rear of the small auditorium, strong arms crossed over his chest, content to remain standing.. or at least not inclined to scuttle back down in a chair for what proves to be a short, if not pointed debriefing. He will cast one sideways glance at Amos Koth, to see if can discern what the young woman he gathers to Leslie Cathasach is talking about. He will return his attention to the the forward visuals.
"Yes, Admiral," he replies immediately to the Commander's request.
As he decends to join the Admiral and use whatever exit he chooses to use, he will pause by Michael. Gravely he replies, "Welcome then Mr. Sinclair. I didn't realize that you had a special arrangement with Meta Division, I'm sure I'll find somewhere to put you to use. As for the 'Darkstars', no, I am afraid I have not heard of them." He smiles a tight lipped expression, relaxing he adds, "I tend to be cynical, I ask your understanding in that. The tradition of the instellar policeman is a fine one, the original Green Lantern Corps, when they were a Corp, and their predecessors the Manhunters, not to forget Earth's own Justice League, and many others come to mind. But if you will excuse me Sir, I bid you good afternoon."
He continues to leave with the Admiral, only murmuring "No offense Sho'taki," as he walks past the Vulcan science officer without pausing to get a reaction.
He makes to depart unless detained, or given pause to reply to something.

Koth's face remains expressionless, acknowledging nothing of the Admiral's gesture. After a moment, he withdraws a small tool from his belt, and opens a side panel on the large, tubular weapon, and begins examining its guts.
Koth closes the side panel after blowing out a small cloud of dust, and lays it on the table in front of him.
Those closely observing Koth think they may have seen a reaction from him. Perhaps an eyelash quivered for a second, almost a blink, or a widening of the eyse, but not carried out. Most will note his still dispassionate attention to the briefing.
Koth stands, gathering up the odd weapon, and speaks for the first time since entering the room, addressing the Admiral in a strong, clear voice that carries to the entire room, "Admiral, it was my understanding that I was to bring the modified weapons to this meeting. The crew will need to be briefed on their use, preferably before the need arises. Getting the phaser plans from Starfleet, and this MASER was like pulling teeth, so I'd appreciate it if the senior officers would let me know when they expect to be briefed on the matter." His voice is expressionless, as is his face, but his words carry his point nonetheless. He's a Starfleet man, and there appears to have been a mix up. He is obviously underwhelmed by the scheduling glitch. GM'S REPLY
The Admiral glances up at Koth from the doorway to the auditorium. He looks for a moment or so before saying anything.
"Have a short presentation ready this afternoon. The President and I will make it part of our inspection of the Janus." he says, unemotionally and then proceeds to continue out of the auditorium.

Immediately after the door shuts behind the Admiral, Michael stands up and with a half-hearted sigh, "I believe that I've already learned one very important thing due to 'observing'." Then with a smile, "Upper eschelon officers are the same everywhere. Well, people, I would like you all to know that I consider it a honor to be serving with you, and I'll see you onboard the Janus." With that, Michael will cross towards the exit whistling a happy tune.

Kendra looks up to see Koth Amos walk in and sit down. "Leslie!" she whispers back, "will you please stop turning your pretty little head at every man that's going to be in the crew with us!" She narrows her amber eyes to show her displeasure, yet her lips are curled quite upwards in a grin. GM'S REPLY BEGINS
Leslie doesn't respond or even react to Kendra's comments. She just continues to stare at Koth as he progresses across the room. A couple of seconds after Koth sits, Leslie snaps out of her staring bit.
She then glances at Kendra with a "Huh?" expression on her face.
GM'S REPLY ENDS
After the Admiral leaves, Kendra turns to Leslie and Gar.
"Well, looks like I gotta go and inspect the medical facilities," she says with glee. "Wanna come with?" Kendra lapses into a more childish way of speaking when she gets excited.
She gets up, turns to face them, and more seriously, "Do you really think the Admiral's right about the Hartford? I mean, that's 500 people. Maybe there's survivors." Kendra picks up her clipboard solemnly.
"Sigh, if I can inspect fast enough, we can all explore our new home a bit," she turns to leave, "coming?" GM'S REPLY BEGINS
"We have nothing else more pressing to do." Gar replies to Kendra, "And we would like to take a look at the ship."
Leslie just shrugs as she starts to stand up. She doesn't apparently have anything else to do either, though she still seems a bit too preoccupied by Koth's presence.

GM'S NOTE: For the most part, the game is going to shift into submoves for the time being. All of these sub plots and sub moves will not be sent around to all the players though, just those immediately present for the events involved.
Move 4.0 will be the next major move which will probably be broken up into two parts. Part 1 will involve the members of the game who are on the Janus and present for the inspection. Part 2 will involve the forward party at K-13.

Jon'Ar continues to depart with the Admiral, as they get ready to exit the room, he pauses, just long enough to stare at Kendra, Leslie, and Gar. He is of course some ways across the room.
In response to Leslie surprised reaction that Kendra was speaking to her, the stone faced First Officer raises one eyebrow almost involuntarily. He shifts his eyes up towards the Security Officer, his eyebrows knitting to a point, as if looking with greater concentration.
Regardless of what ever he thinks he will see, he will depart with the Admiral without comment.

The youth watches the exchanges between the different individuals with rapt attention. Some shock is reflected in his features at the cigar incident, as well as later when Captain Atom openly questions the Admirals assignments. The stranger playing with his weapon in the briefing room seems to set him a bit on edge, with many a sidewards glance.
No real surprise reflects on his features when there is no mention made of his position aboard the Janus. An errant thought crosses his mind about whther he is actually in the correct briefing. News of the loss of the Starship causes his features to grow cold and serious. The thought of all those people being lost seems to have left a sour taste and queesy expression on his contenance.
Slowly, following the Admiral's exit, he rises from his seat and makes his way towards the same doorway. As he passes the two young ladies, he gives them a shy smile and blushes slightly as he catches himself staring at their obvious femine charms a bit too intently. Then quickly he hurries past the others and heads out the door.
If possible, he tries to catch the Admiral and his aid before they get out of sight. "Admiral, Admiral? Excuse my interruption Sir...I am Ensign Thorne...Paragon...I'm supposed to accompany Captain Atom and Sho'taki...only I'm not quite sure what you want me to do with them...nor for that matter, what exactly my role is to be aboard the Janus? Strange name for a ship by the way...she's the Roman goddess of duality...looking both forward to the the future and back into the past...some say she also represents duplicity and betrayal? Is there some signifigance to her name being used?"
(Darn...I sound like an imbecile....what am I thinking...and just where did *that* little bit of inforamtion come from...why couldn't that wizard have given these abilities to someone else...but what about those two ladies? Wow! If they could've seen me as Paragon...I bet they would've jumped at the chance to go out with me...maybe I could score some points with them? Hmmmn....)

[A couple of minor points, just for your reference... The outside structure of the Janus looks the the science vessel from the begining of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The noticeable details of this is that the structure looks like your basic Enterprise class ship, except that the saucer section is not attached to engineering. The engineering pod supports the two nacelles which in turn support the saucer section.
The problem with the design was that there was no obvious way of going from the saucer section to engineering. I liked the design and decided that the reason why there was no access to engineering is because the direct engineering controls are automated. The Janus is a prototype ship that gives up radiation shielding for more power (the ship can't go any faster, but it can cycle weapons quicker and has stronger shields) but the radiation in engineering (while active) would kill most normal people.
Of course the ship is still in drydock right now and the engines aren't active, so engineering is safe right now. If you have any comments about this design, fire away.]
As you startupon your work, you hear the familar squeak of your communicator snapping on.
"Engineer Biehl, your presence is requested immediately in Admiral Willett's office at Starfleet Headquarters." the computerized voice commands through the communicator.

GM'S REPLY:
Once the Admiral has stepped out in the hallway, he glances behind him briefly to see that Jon'Ar is following him. He then looks forward and proceeds down the hallway.
"There are some issues I need to bring to your attention." the Admiral says out loud in a normal enough voice. "Concerning the various crew members and to facilitate the aclimation aboard the Janus."
"First of all, Chief Medical Officer Galt is the same Kendra Galt who served on the Enterprise under Captain Kirk." He says, as if that should mean something to you.
Ensign Thorne approaches from behind Jon'Ar now and can probably hear portions of the Admiral's words.
"It has been a long time and we haven't been able to detect any trace of her previous, less than ethical, personality." the Admiral stops and looks towards the ensign now. "It's as if she has been reborn as a new person... Yes Ensign Thorne?"
The ensign speaks his mind to which the Admiral just watches and listens with quite a bit of patience. He doesn't seem to be annoyed at all, but his lack of an immediate reply is a bit unnerving.
"In your other form you are capable of interstellar travel, yes?" the Admiral replies slowly, without waiting for an answer. "I would like you to accompany them and perhaps provide some insight that they would not. Seeing the situation from another pair of eyes, so to speak."
"As for your role aboard the Janus," the Admiral goes on to say, even more slowly now. "I believe you would serve the Janus and yourself best in the role as a Yeoman to the bridge crew. This will allow you to get a better understanding a wider range of skills in all the roles aboard the Janus."
"The naming of the Janus I couldn't comment on." the Admiral finally replies with a slight chuckle. "I was not present at the commencement ceremonies for this particular ship. I am sure you can find all the pertientent information regarding the reasons and why fors on board the Janus."
The Admiral then looks at the Ensign a bit critically, "If there is nothing else bothering you...?"

He turns back to the screen, asking the computer to display all available

in a mischeivous grin. "You'll have a copy by 1500. Enjoy."
He turns back to the screen. As the door hisses shut behind the last
leavers, Cochrane speaks to the air, an expression of curiousity on his
face. "Jon'Ar. When you're finished with the Admiral, I'd appreciate a word

experiment with the limits of Jon'Ar's hearing over.

in a mischeivous grin. "You'll have a copy by 1500. Enjoy."
He turns back to the screen. As the door hisses shut behind the last
leavers, Cochrane speaks to the air, an expression of curiousity on his
face. "Jon'Ar. When you're finished with the Admiral, I'd appreciate a word
in the briefing room." Then he turns to study the screen once more, his
experiment with the limits of Jon'Ar's hearing over.

I think he'd rather fly up on his own. He'd get a better view that way. If there is a problem with this, let me know, going up an alternate way is not a problem. I don't have a problem with the Admiral, I liked it, I only hope you liked the response...

[That's fine...]
Michael is one of the first to make it to the Janus, he thinks. The ship, itself, is apparently a new prototype. The saucer section is supported by conduits to the nacelles, which are in turn attached to the engineering section. There is no obvious way to travel between Engineering and the saucer decks. Except by transporter, apparently.
[The ship looks like an updated version of the science vessel from the begining of Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.]
I assume he will use an airlock to enter the ship. Where does he want to enter though, generally speaking that is.

<< "We have nothing else more pressing to do." Gar replies to Kendra, "And we would like to take a look at the ship.">>
Kendra grabs his arm, "I always knew I could count on you for company," she smiles.
<<Leslie just shrugs as she starts to stand up. She doesn't apparently have anything else to do either, though she still seems a bit too preoccupied by Koth's presence. >>
Kendra grabs Leslie's arm with her other arm, "Sigh, Leslie," she whines, "stop gawking and let's go!"
They leave if no one else stops them. Kendra will continue to jabber about her lab results and how exciting it's going to be on the Janus unless Gar or Leslie stops her.
GM'S REPLY:
"I hate to do this to you..." Gar says a bit slowly, "But I have to let one of the children out to play soon."
Gar has a very odd "condition." He has a physical split personality. He physically and mentally changes into different people at various times of the day. The change comes upon him a different times of the day, with no regularity, and involves many different personalities.
His medical file has cataloged at least a dozen different "forms" so to speak. Not all of them are playing with a full deck either, but none of them are violent. At least none that he's exhibited so far.
Putting off this transformation usually results in a pretty intense headache on Gar's part and general irrationality. They do all share a mind though, they remember each other and possess the same memories and skills.
"I'm not sure who is fighting to get out though." Gar says with a shrug.
Leslie finally speaks up now, but apparently hasn't been listening real well.
"You mean... You didn't see it?" she asks, looking at Kendra with wide eyes.

[No problem. I figured that you did.]
Finding an airlock and accessing it would usually be fairly difficult from the outside. Apparently someone has remodeled the airlocks on the Janus for such though. The ability of the crew members to travel in space unprotected would be a good reason for this.
Stepping out of the airlock and into the hallway you can see that the ship is already staffed. Most of the people detailed to the Janus look like they are fresh out of the Academy too.
What are your plans now that you're on the ship? Where are you going to head? What are you going to check out? Etc. etc.

Looking over the enlisted crew roster, you come to a very quick conclusion. 90% of the people serving the Janus are fresh out of the Academy. Apparently the Present of the Federation gave permission for the Meta Division to solicit members of Starfleet to transfer, but not many people took up the option.
Recent graduates from the Academy saw the opportunity to move into open territory. Fewer "entrenched" officials to block rapid rises through the ranks. Which is both good and bad, as you can imagine.

Koth walks in and she nearly goes into a swoon, FACT. I scan Koth, find no bodily functions, and then my sight is distorted with impossible visions.. not an easy feat across a room, even with my some what average mental faculties, but magic is a weakness of mine. Ergo our security officer is some manifestation of some mystical nature. Everything Koth seeks to conceal from me is obvious anyways. I wager he and I will cross again.>>

It doesn't take a genius (or Sherlock Holmes) to detect that she seems to know a bit more than she's letting on. Either she isn't taking great care to hide it or she's just not very skilled in hiding her knowledge.
<<"Hah!" laughs the Captain. "Yes, I suppose you're right. I suspect that a condition of the loan of the Janus from Starfleet was that a Starfleet man would be in the command chair. If that wasn't the case, my feeling is that Jon'Ar would be captaining this mission. That much was made pretty obvious by the Admiral. Excluding a Captain from the inspection of his ship? That's unheard of in Starfleet, almost an insult. The only reason the Admiral would normally have to do such a thing is to make it plain who has the real command authority." He doesn't appear too upset about it though.>>
She quirks her eyebrow slightly, "That was not the impression I had received, but then I have only been in Starfleet for a very short period of time. It seemed as if there was quite a bit or urgency involved and little planning or foresight.... An old Earth saying comes to mind, 'running around like chickens without their heads.'"
<<Captain Cochrane appears deep in thought for a moment, then seems to come to a decision. "Well, the Admiral obviously intended us to head out as soon as possible. I would suggest that our next step is to find this 'Paragon', complete whatever preparations we need, and leave. What do you think?">>
"It would seem a logical course of action." she replies with a smile.
At this point a six foot round section of the outside wall of the auditorium starts to give off a faint green glow. This is occuring far behind Sho'taki and without her apparent notice. A half a second later, a humanoid figure steps through that section of the wall.
The humanoid is apparently a Vulcan and he is clothed in a elaborate version of a Green Lantern costume. His dark eyes are framed by a emerald domino mask. He's wearing a long, deep green cape which trails in the air behind him. The rest of his attire is a combonation of traditional Vulcan ambassador attire and a late 20th century Green Lantern uniform.
[The image I have in mind is a little less severe version of Hal Jordan's costume as Paralax with a bit of a Vulcan refinement. And no, this doesn't mean that this person has anything to do with Hal Jordan.]
"Sho'taki!" the new fellow shouts across the room in Vulcan with a pretty derisive manner. "I would have words with you now!"
She spins around at that, quite taken surprise.

<< The First Officer pauses as Willet stops to address the young man. He stares openly at him with a serious, if not grave expression, arms behind his back as if at 'parade rest.' He cocks his head slightly when the Admiral points out his expectations on the trip into space.
Glacing briefly at the Admiral and then back to the Ensign, "Awfully young isn't he?" he asks somewhat rhetorically.
He appears to muse for a second. "Ensign Thorne, it would be useless to expound further on the Admiral's directions, but I concur in that you should do your utmost to learn from your senior officers. Inexperience and enthusiam is not a fault, but bravado is- you seem to know the difference.. I think you will do fine.
"Most of us are not well aquainted yet, and I myself am only familiar with the public members of our crew. Welcome to our crew then. Since we shall be working together, I will caution you that I may seem impatient and curt at times. This is not a personal reflection on you. That you preform to your best is my only expectation. I look forward to reviewing your report of the mission.
"If you're done Admiral?" he asks letting Willet of course have the last word..
Assuming that the Admiral has nothing more to add, "You'd best regroup with the Captain and Sho'taki, good day Mr. Thorne.
"And.. interesting biographical research Mr. Thorne.. I'll keep it mind." >>
The Admiral nods to Thorne and then faces forward again, heading about on his duties.
"You will find, Mr. Jon'ar," the Admiral continues to say, "that this crew is made up of a pretty ecclectic group, which is what I wanted to bring you up to speed on."
"First and foremost, the rank and file of the Janus is largely inexperienced, but eager." he says as he walks through the hallways of Starfleet Command. "The division was allowed to provide an open enrollment to the ranks of Starfleet. Very few enlisted Starfleet officers opted for this transfer. On the other hand, almost 75% of this year's Academy graduates did transfer to the Meta division."
"Young and hungry." he muses, a bit slowly now. He pauses long enough to glance back at Jon'Ar and catch his eye. "They all saw the opportunity available in a largely unstaffed organization.... The applications came in like panhandlers to California."
"The senior crew would also bring a bit of alarm to any Starfleet Captain." he says as he steps into a turbolift. "Two of which I would ask that you keep your eye on."
He turns his attention to his clipboard computer, taps a few keystrokes, and hands it over for you to look at. The personel files for Leslie Cathasach and Gar Kyrrk are open on the computer.
"Leslie and Gar are potentially the two most dangerous and useful crew members during a crisis situation." he says while looking up towards the threshold of the turbolift.
"Leslie is a student of the mystical arts, apparently. While I might not believe in magic, pursay, I have seen her abilities. Very versatile. Her one alarming trait is to suffer fainting spells during high stress situations. She blacks out for a short period of time, only to awaken with a very intense clarity and demeanor, quite unlike her normal behavior. During these post fainting periods I have seen her predict immediate future events with a 97% accuracy."
The turbolift continues upwards as the Admiral takes a moment of silence.
"Gar is even more an anomaly. He has, what we have termed, a physical multiple personality disorder. That is, he changes not only mentally, but physically periodically during the day. Dr. Galt has cataloged no less than a dozen different physical and mental personalities for him... She would be better suited to explain his condition."
The turbolift begins to slow as it approaches the floor on which the Admiral's office resides.

===================
DAVID THEROUX: Second in Security is a very recent Academy graduate who has served on three other training missions. High grades in the Academy, performed fairly well, and seems to have one locked item in his file regarding his second training tour. He is also suspected of being a undeveloped Meta.
The locked portion is just that, locked. You can't get into it yet, without breaking any laws. It will probably be open to you just as soon as the crew roster is formalized.
SAYO INABA: The next person in line in the Security Department. She is also a recent Academy graduate and has had one training tour. Her record also notes that she is a Buddist (sp?), as well as a pacifist, which is very odd for a security officer.
Rounding out the security department is another six officers, all of which are unremarkable. (Read, faceless NPCs for the time being.)
The rest of the trip only allows enough time to check out two more character's backgrounds. Since the top two characters are PCs, I'll go with the next two NPCs. Sho'taki (since she is the science officer) and Leslie (since you have a personal interest in her).
SHO'TAKI: An enigma. She first came to attention when she flew from Vulcan to Earth by way of her ring. Instead of doing anything spectacular, she joined the Academy. She proved her presence as a Green Lantern on a small number of minor situations. She has not been back to Vulcan since her trip though.
ATHAME: Admiral Willet's thoughts in her file sum up her best: "Leslie is a student of the mystical arts, apparently. While I might not believe in magic, pursay, I have seen her abilities. Very versatile. Her one alarming trait is to suffer fainting spells during high stress situations. She blacks out for a short period of time, only to awaken with a very intense clarity and demeanor, quite unlike her normal behavior. "Colonel Mustard." he mutters, still a bit in thought. Leslie, slightly reluctantly, takes his other arm, which jars him from his memories.
"Well then," he finally says. "What port of call is it that we are on voyage to? Madagascar? Rio de Janiero? Constantinople? Nanking?"
"No," Leslie says, with a slightly bit of confusion on her face. Evidently she doesn't recognize any of those places. "Star system K-13, near the Romulan border."
"Star system...?" he says looking at Leslie with an even more confused look than she had.

<<She's not the only one. Cochrane steps up beside Sho'taki, raises a positively Vulcan eyebrow towards her and says "Another one? What did you do, scan the ring into a replicator?" Without waiting for an answer, he steps forward to greet the newcomer. In a no-nonsense tone, he says "I'm Captain Adam Cochrane of Starfleet. You are...?">>
The new fellow doesn't even bother to look at you. His attention stays fixed an Sho'taki with an unwavering sense of purpose.
"...not talking to you." he says in English, finishing your question.
"{We have nothing to speak of, Consool.}" Sho'taki replies in cold, sharp Vulcan tones.
"{You have not been back to Vulcan since coming to Earth, why is that?}" this 'Consool' replies in equally cold tones. He doesn't wait for an answer though.
"{You have ignored our repeat attempts to contact you. You have ignored messages from your family. You have ignored the Vulcan high council's decree for you to return home. Why is this? Your actions are what have necessitated my visit to this planet, now you must answer for them.}"
<<NOTE: While fully aware that he is no match for a Green Lantern, especially one with the willpower of a Vulcan (grief, that's a scary thought!), he is attempting to calm down any potential conflict before the place gets trashed. Or not. I have a feeling my pride is about to be bruised :-).>>
I'm assuming that he either speaks Vulcan or is wearing a badge, so that he can understand the conversation. There wouldn't be much point to this if all he heard was gibberish.

Star Trek: Future Champions - Smuggler (Move 3.0)
Your ship takes off and heads through normal smuggler trade routes without much of a hitch. The normal sort of difficulties and hitches occur, but nothing out of the ordinary. Certainly nothing you couldn't handle and weren't use to handling.
The trip to the pre-assign coordinates takes about six hours, during which Neitan and Rema keep to themselves in the cargo area of the ship. Neitan did not give you any idea what he wanted to do when you did reach this point. So, at this point, I assume that you would go back to the cargo area and find out exactly what he wanted you to do now.
You make your way back to the cargo area to find Neitan fiddling with the sensor equipment he brought aboard. Rema, meanwhile, is undressing out of her scientist smock and get-up. There's a skin tight, white uniform hanging over the side of the sensor equipment. Apparently that's what she's going to change into.
The uniform has wires and odd looking equipment lining it as well. It looks familar, but you couldn't place it without a closer look.
Upon your approach and inquiry, Reitan looks up from his equipment.
"Shut down all non-essential equipment. We can not be detected at this time." he looks back down at his equipment again. "It should only take them a few hours to reach this point."

<<I[Jason- I am going to assume that young Mister Thorne is dismissed. If not then Jon'Ar is going to somewhat tacitly remind him that he is dismissed and to run along.. Sorry this is late..]>>
[Whether he stays or not, this conversation will occur after he leaves. I just didn't want to wait on John any further, since I'm not sure when he is going to reply.]
<<<< "You will find, Mr. Jon'ar," the Admiral continues to say, "that this crew is made up of a pretty ecclectic group, which is what I wanted to bring you up to speed on.">>>>
<<A smile plays about my lips, "Yes Sir, that somehow did come across in the meeting.">>
<<<<"First and foremost, the rank and file of the Janus is largely inexperienced, but eager." he says as he walks through the hallways of Starfleet Command. "The division was allowed to provide an open enrollment to the ranks of Starfleet. Very few enlisted Starfleet officers opted for this transfer. On the other hand, almost 75% of this year's Academy graduates did transfer to the Meta division.">>>>
<<"Hmm.. and all anxious to get in on the ground floor.." I add.>>
<<<<"Young and hungry." he muses, a bit slowly now. He pauses long enough to glance back at Jon'Ar and catch his eye. "They all saw the opportunity available in a largely unstaffed organization.... The applications came in like panhandlers to California.">>>>
<<"Not to question your decision, but that makes your selection of the two commanding officers ironic. A truely dedicated Captain who put the team before his career, and a First Officer who would be content in any level you put him.
"I won't lie and say that I'm not pleased that you place such confidence in me, but I was surprised.">>
"Cochrane is somewhat out of date and quite the loner." the Admiral says, quite normally. "Putting him in charge was the only way to make sure that he didn't loose interest in the ship... What's more, Starfleet has tied my hands to a certain extent. A Starfleet captain must be at the helm on a Starfleet ship. Cochrane is the only captain I have available."
<<<<"Leslie and Gar are potentially the two most dangerous and useful crew members during a crisis situation." he says while looking up towards the threshold of the turbolift.
During these post fainting periods I have seen her predict immediate future events with a 97% accuracy.">>>>
<<I skim the files briefly, looking for anything of note.. [feel free to add more info]>>
[I would be happy to, just give me an idea of what sort of info he would look for. Detailing everything could take quite a while.]
<<I purse my lips thinking.. I don't usually believe in magic myself, but then I've seen some pretty strange things myself.. She is pretty young thing..
I nod, "I'll keep my eye on her..">>
He nods in reply to that, apparently unaware any other motive you might have.
<<<<"Gar is even more an anomaly. He has, what we have termed, a physical multiple personality disorder. That is, he changes not only mentally, but physically periodically during the day. Dr. Galt has cataloged no less than a dozen different physical and mental personalities for him... She would be better suited to explain his condition.">>>
<<I my free association reaction to this is to ask if this doesn't make Gar techincally insane? By the bright star of Daxam! It's one thing to staff this mission with these strange and unique creatures, but quite another to let an unstable madman aboard.
But then I considered the New Genesites.. they're an odd bunch too.
I quell my reaction to Gar.
"The Doctor then has cleared him for duty..?" I ask..
"Then I'll be wary of him as well, and keep a discrete eye on his supervision untill we see him in action then.">>
"He has preformed quite appropriately up to now. I see no reason why he shouldn't continue such." he says, quite emotionlessly. "The doctor is quite capable of monitoring his situation and, as I said, she would be much more informative in explaining the nature of the situation."
<<<<The turbolift begins to slow as it approaches the floor on which the Admiral's office resides.
"Do you have any specific questions before we proceed?">>>>
<<"Yes.. Mr. Dagon, and our Ship's counselor both appear to be very spirited if not willfull. Any special items of note regarding those two?
"And has there been any.. ah- backroom speculation regarding the Hartford that may be of some insight, but not appropriate for the briefing? Sir..">>
The admiral exits the turbolift and heads towards his office now.
"You will see that there is a reason why I tolerate Mr. Dagon's sometimes excessive behavior." He then pauses for a moment to shake his head. "As for Einri... How much of Deltan society are you aware of?"
[You character would know as much about Deltans as you do.]
