The photographs shown here are just a few of the many vibrant works of art seen on motor homes today, all startling in their virtuosity. Looking at the originals, many times because of a chance opportunity on the highway, it is hard to account for them as cliché's. Which is exactly the point about the great Asphalt Gallery. Photographic examples are fine for the artist's portfolio and to accompany the magazine stories but the real emotional experience is available only through a one-to-one encounter between the active viewer and the painting. It is these encounters that take place all across this nation that makes the personal imprint that patron and artist seek, the impression that touches and moves the heart and soul of the viewer.
