Artist Information

Mr. LoBasso was born on the west side of Manhattan, attended school in New York City and spent his summers on Long Island where his family had a summer home. He has always been a serious student of wildlife both on Long Island's ocean beaches and in its vast woodland areas. He is a self-taught artist who developed his unique style from the close observation and study of the wildlife he paints and draws. He brings to his art an intensity of detail that sets his work apart. This detail virtually brings the piece to life and draws the viewer into the painting.

Mr. LoBasso paints in acrylic, with which he uses many layers to achieve the effects and detail his work is noted for. He also applies this same detail to his drawings in pencil and ink. Each of his works seems to have a personality of its own.

The artist has exhibited in numerous juried shows and has had his work displayed in musuems. The longest being a ten week showing at the Vanderbilt Musuem, entitled A Moment in Time.

He has won numerous awards for his work. His work is in a number of private collections and has sold world wide. The artist has donated work to the National Wildlife Federation and Ducks Unlimited to further the conservation and preservation of our environment.

We are proud to have put together this selection of the artist's work in Limited Edition, Conservation Edition (C.E.) and Open Edition Prints. A portion of proceeds from the Conservation Editions are donated to conservation, wildlife and animal rehabilitation programs.
