FollyWorld Scene 2

Scene 138
written by Lilpeste and Linda

Michelle is standing in the back doorway of the Bauer house, holding MJ in her arms. She sees Robbie sitting down talking with her father.

Robbie: I really don't know what to say.

Ed: (smiling wryly) That makes two of us. I had no idea you even existed.

Robbie. I guess I have an advantage. I knew my dad... well, he wasn't my dad. I came here to find out who was.

Ed: I'm glad you did.

Robbie: (looks uncertain) So what do we do now?

The camera shifts to Michelle as she backs up into the Bauer kitchen where she hugs the now-sleeping baby to her.

Michelle: Good question, huh, MJ? (more than a note of doubt in her voice) What do we do now?

Off Michelle and MJ, we cut to the beach; Rick and Mindy are kissing passionately...

Rick: (pulls back) I've been wanting to do that for some time now...

Mindy: Years...

Rick: It hasn't been that long...

"Excuse me... I'm sorry to disturb you both, but could you tell me where I can find a nice little place to eat around here?"

Mindy: (eyes the beautiful woman suspiciously) If you go down that street right there a little ways, you'll find a place called Company. It's pretty good.

Rick: Yeah, my cousin runs it. Are you new to town?

"Yes, I am."

Rick: Look for Bridget and tell her Rick and Mindy sent you.

"Thanks. My name is Emily. Maybe I'll see you both around."

As Emily smiles, pleased to have met some people near her own age, we cut to Nadine's apartment; the lights are low so the strategically placed candles could create a warm atmosphere; the fresh flowers that Leo had delivered have instilled a romantic aroma; Nadine, in a beautiful and classy black dress, opens the door to Leo... who looks smashing in his dark suit...

Leo: Hi there, Thin...

Nadine: (smiles) Good to see you, Sexy. (opens the door wide, motioning for him to come in)

Leo: (looks around the room) Wow. Nadine, this place looks great. You... (takes a long look) look phenomenal.

Nadine: (touched; reaches for the CD player and presses play; a soft instrumental plays) Would you care to dance before we eat?

Leo: And it isn't country music... wow... thank you.

Nadine: (laughs) You've had quite an effect on me. (moves into his arms)

Leo: (holds her close as they dance; smells her hair) You have quite an effect on me, too.

The phone rings...

Leo: Are you going to answer that?

Nadine: (enjoying being close to Leo) That's what answering machines are for...

Leo: I like the way you think.

voice: Hey Nadine, it's Billy. Listen darlin', could you give me a ring when you get a chance? I was talking with Dylan and well... (sighs) I really need to talk with you. Thanks.

Leo: (a little agitated) Do you want to call him back?

Nadine: (looks Leo in the eye) There is something I want... (quietly) you. Will you stay the night?

Leo can hardly believe his luck... he thought for sure hearing Billy's voice would ruin the moment for them; he certainly never thought that it would lead to their first night together; as Leo leans his head against Nadine's, lightly touching noses, we cut to Follybend; Holly and Fletcher are lying in bed, holding each other...

Fletcher: So how are we going to have our anniversary top this?

Holly: You know I love a challenge. (smiles) It just keeps getting better and better, don't you think?

Fletcher: You know, I don't want to ruin this moment...

Holly: (turns away) Buuuuuuuut...

Fletcher: (turns her face back toward his) We always seem to have incredible sex when you're trying to keep something from me... as if you're overcompensating...

Holly: (shocked) What?!? I'm not sure how to take that, Reade. Is it not good between us most of the time? Or do you think I'm always keeping secrets... or do you --

Fletcher: (over her) Hear me out on this, Red...

Holly: (nervous and uneasy) Fine.

Fletcher: (smiles) Do you think I'm so dumb that I don't notice that you come on to me like gangbusters when we start discussing a subject you don't want to talk about?

Holly: (upset to be discovered, but impressed all the same) I don't like it that you can read me so well. None of the other men in my life were able to...

Fletcher: (amused) Maybe they were too busy to really get to know you.

Holly: Or maybe I'm losing my touch.

Fletcher: (laughs) Nooooo, I can definitely assure you that is NOT the case. But you're changing the subject.

Holly: Stop it. (laughs) Is nothing going to work?

Fletcher: (shakes his head) Only the truth.

Holly: It has nothing to do with you, if that helps.

Fletcher: Holly...

Holly: (has so much on her mind, decides to tell him the easiest one) Robbie Malone...

Fletcher: What about her?

Holly: It turns out Rita is her mother... (Fletcher reacts) That's not all... her father's Ed.

Fletcher: Wow. I wonder how Michelle is handling the news...

On Holly, nervous that Fletcher's first thought was Michelle, we fade to black...
