Things I have learned from using lace. It definitely was not a cheaper way to go. Make sure the lace can be ordered if you run out (I did). Put one coat of paint on lace before glueing to roof. It makes it easier to cover when glued on. I am still trying to cover up the hard to reach places in the lace that I missed by not painting it first. But it was much easier to use than those individual shingles. I used a fabric piping that I painted before on the edges of the roof for a finished look. I also used a fabric medium added to the paint. I finished with a couple of coats of modge podge to seal it and make for easier dusting with a paint brush.
