WOBURN HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT BAND

WHAT DOES THE WOBURN HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT BAND DO AFTER THANKSGIVING?

PLENTY!!!!

The students enrolled in the Concert Band class (952) have been very busy since the football season ended. They have performed at many events and are scheduled for many more.

In DECEMBER, the band played at the North End's Santa Parade; United Stationers in Woburn; the annual Winterfest Concert with the Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Show Choir.

In JANUARY several students played at Mayor Dever's inauguration.KEVIN WALTON was selected for and performed with the Masachusetts Music Educators Northeast District Concert -- quite an honor -- congratulations Kevin!!

The Concert Band will host "POPS" in MARCH. Their latest piece "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie TITANIC will be featured. The arrangement and orchestration was written by Band Director MR. KEVIN SMITH with assistance from band members JOHN DE RIENZO, BILL MEEHAN, MIKE REIDY, KEN WALTON, and JON LABBE.

On March 21 KATE BURNS will perform with the Northeast Junior District Band. Her sax will lead the group -- Coongratulations Kate!!

The Jazz Band will perform at the Berklee Jazz Festival on March 28.

In APRIL, the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Show Choir will perform at Fine Arts Night. They will also perform for the Little League and at the MICA Festival in Lexington.

MAY will find many of our students participating in the department's Talent Show and escorting the students to City Hall for Student Government Day.

In JUNE the Concert Band will be the highlight at graduation. Members will also receive awards at the Annual Band Banquet. The awards have been earned throughout the year at a variety of festivals and events.
