Direct Apartment Loans

Direct Apartment Loans - The Federal Student Aid (FSA) program provided by the Department of Education provides students with funding to pay for college and university education through the Direct apartment loans Program. This program allows the student to borrow money from the Federal Government rather than a bank and provides an easy way to access direct apartment loans for education.

Funds to support the Direct apartment loans Program come from the sale of Treasury Bills. Repayment is made directly to the U.S. Government via the Department of Education for the life of their loans. Direct apartment loans Program notes are never sold to another lender. In the standard repayment plan the payments are fixed with up to 10 years to repay. The Direct apartment loans extended repayment plan offers fixed payments for 12 or 30 years, depending on the loan amount. Graduated repayment option offers smaller payments at first, growing to larger payments over a period of up to 30 years. Direct apartment loans provides an Income contingent repayment means that the payment amount is based on the outstanding loan amount and your and your spouse’s income. This plan can vary each year and repayment can extend up to 25 years. The income contingent repayment plan is not available to those who chose to have parents obtain the loan under the direct apartment loans PLUS borrower program.

There are subsidized and unsubsidized Direct apartment loans available. In a subsidized Direct apartment loans, the Federal government pays the interest on the loan during the period which the student is actively in school. In unsubsidized direct apartment loans, the interest accrues during the period of education and therefore the loan pay-off will be greater. There are more stringent eligibility requirements for the subsidized direct apartment loans.

To apply for a direct loan, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form or Renewal FAFSA. Parents must complete a Direct PLUS Loan Application and Promissory Note, which is available from the accepting school’s financial aid office.
