EA News Spoofs
The EA News Spoof Files
If it wasn't for the good ole Beeb, EA wouldn't have been able to fool so many people with it's authentic-looking "news" stories. Here are the main three which sparked rumour and controversy throughout the land and even had Sky News relaying the news itself as "fact". Nothing lazy about this journalism!
This, the original news-spoof, appeared on one of the first pages of EA in November 2003. For those not ITK, Brko was, erm... not as good as he is in the 2004-05 season. Diplomatic, as usual. Strange how 12 months can skew the perspective on this piss-take!
This came about as a result of rumours started about Howard going to Bristol City. Don't know who started them, mind you, but it grew and grew - out of all proportion until it had taken up a whole day's messageboard on Lutonfc.com. Which is where most of the player rumours start and finish to this day!
September 26th, 2004. EA was officially in hibernation after the 2003-04 season. However, it had to come out with a new NewSpoof befitting a team at the top of the table. The picture is apparently a "generic shitty pants" picture, free of copyright restrictions, and of unknown origin. ClipShit Art, if you will.
