Jesus Said.....
"Let the dead bury
their
dead".
Matthew 8:22
One of the biggest costs for the living (after purchasing a home and
car),
and, one of the biggest money makers in this country, is putting the
dead
shells of people into the ground. It is amazing how custom and
tradition
have taken over, and the burying of the dead has become such a big deal
to
the world. The American standard for funeral care is nothing more than
a
product of marketing.
Christians should know that DEATH HAPPENS and putting a human body in
the
grave is temporary - it shall turn to dust but it shall rise again in
its
new form for the judgment. To the Christian, the body is but a
shell,
an earthly form of flesh, blood and bone, it is for human use on the
earth.
We shall have a spirit body - immortal - it shall live forever and will
be
composed of flesh and bone with no blood or organs.
There should always be joy in death for the Christian. If you
cry,
cry for the living, for those who are left behind in this evil world -
the
Christian who is being buried isn't crying, he/she is in Heaven with
the
Lord Jesus. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor
life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things
to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall
be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 8:38-39 KJV)
I can hardly wait to go to Heaven and I don't care what you do to my
old
body (2 Corinthians 5:6-9). I have told my wife to
bury
me as cheaply as she can with no service, no funeral home room rent -
nothing,
just give my body to the undertaker and let them put me away as quickly
and
cheaply as possible (in a cardboard box if possible). I will not
be
present in the body but will be in Heaven in spirit with the Lord,
beginning
my new life which shall last forever with the Lord. That is what
this
life is all about, getting to Heaven to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember, this life is just a testing ground as to where we will spend
eternity
after we die in the flesh, and we all have to die, that is, except
those
at Rapture - "For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive
and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord
in the air: and so all we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians
4:16-17).
Are you ready? Death is the beginning, not the end, for those who
are
ready. Let us put death back where it belongs, in its proper
perspective,
as it is not the end, but the beginning of life in the hereafter with
the
Lord. One day, we shall all stand before the Lord.
Every man and woman will die, just as surely as he or she had been
born!
Of all people, believers, the followers of Jesus Christ, should know
that
everyone dies eventually. Once a person dies, he or she is in the
Lord's
hands and we are not to worry about them or where they go, as we can't
change
things for them that have died. If they were in hell, would you
want
to go with them? I pray not! Leave it with the Lord, and
leave
it there, they are in His hands. If you are following Christ, you
should
not worry about the dead - witness to the living who are still alive
and
need your help.
Remember, your seed is not really yours, it belongs to the Creator of
ALL
things - the Lord Jesus. He can reproduce you or your seed a
million
times over, as well as the love you have for anyone. All things
are
the Lord's. You are just a steward of His.
"And it came to pass, that, as they went in
the
way, a certain [man] said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee
whithersoever
thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the
air
[have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head. And
he
said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go
and
bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but
go
thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will
follow
thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my
house.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and
looking
back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
Luke 9:57-62
If you follow Christ, and belong to Him, do not worry about death, it
has
no part in your life or walk as a Christian. Remember, there was
no
service over the body of the Lord when He died. They took Him
down
from the tree and laid Him in the tomb (Read Matthew 27:59-60).
Death is not a burden, it is joy. Besides, nothing can happen to
you
unless the Lord allows it. If you are His, and in His Hands,
nothing
can happen to you until He says so, then it will be to take you home
with
Him forever.
