GETTING TO BAHIA LUMINOSA
Take one of the two ferries for passengers and vehicles serving PAQUERA (a small town on the Gulf coast of the Nicoya Peninsula) from Puntarenas, a pleasant voyage across the protected Gulf of Nicoya passing a number of islands. Ferries run every two hours, norning to late evening. If driving a rental vehicle, the road from the ferry takes you to Paquera, where you will turn right once you arrive at the Paquera Town Center, then drive NORTH 5.7 miles (9 Km) on the main road.
If afoot, a number of taxis generally meet the ferry at Paquera ferry terminal, all know Bahia Luminosa. Taxis take about 20-25 minutes and the fare should be around $10-11.

* Taxes in Costa Rica

Taxes in Costa Rica vary from time to time as the government decrees, and taxes are imposed on most services and commodities; "room" taxes are currently 16.4% of the base rate (i.e., add approximately $7 to $8 per night to base rate) and are collected at the resort, not included in the base rate amount paid at confirmation of reservation.
