This is a home video (not a professional production) of various surgical procedures performed on pet rats at a veterinary surgery. All surgery carried out by a qualified vet with the rats under carefully monitored anaesthesia.

The idea of this film was initially to reassure pet rat owners that having a lump removed is a fairly routine simple procedure and that there really wasn't anything to worry about. Too many owners assume that lump=death sentence. In reality, these surgeries take less than 10 minutes with very little blood loss or trauma to the rat, and providing the rat is in otherwise healthy condition, there shouldn't be any complications.
As filming progressed, I started to film other sorts of surgeries: neuters, abscess removals, and there are now six surgeries shown on the tape, in detail, from knock down to the last stitch going in. All rats, other than the one that had to be euthanised on the table, made a full recovery.
A young doe is anaesthetised for a hernia repair and
spey. Ten minutes later and it's all done, she'll soon be
awake!!

The film has NOT been made with the intention of teaching rat owners to do their own surgeries. You should NEVER operate on your own animals and should ALWAYS take a sick pet to a qualified vet.
The DVD is Region 2 (Europe) PAL and comes to you in it's own plastic wallet, with a card insert. The VHS tape is PAL, it comes in it's own card box with a printed label and leaflet.

"Feel The Fear - Holly Vs Rats" is a Children's TV Programme where presenter, Holly Willoughby, tries to overcome her fear of rats. The second half of this programme is filmed at Animal Ark Veterinary Centre and shows Holly "assisting" Lyndon as he removes a mammory tumour from a rat. I am not selling this title but if you would like it added to the end of your rat surgery DVD/Video, then choose the appropriate option.
