JOHN1 LYNN, Sr. died in Fauquier Co., Virginia after 18 August 1794 where his Will was probated on 22 Dec 1794 (Will Bk. 2, pg. 345). Believed to be a brother of Michael and William LYNN of Prince William Co., VA, John Lynn Sr. appears on the 1787 Prince William Co. Tax List (List A) along with his sons, Fielding and John Jr. In his Will he names his sons, JOHN, LEWIS, FIELDING, FRANCIS, THOMPSON, and daughter SUKEY THOMAS LYNN as well as his granddaughter, JANE WEST. Has a Revolutionary War Public Service Claim,: Prince William County, Court Booket: p.8, Commissioner's Book: IV, p. 201.

JAMES FRISTOE3 LYNN (JOHN Sr.1, FIELDING2) was born 19 May 1806 in Loudoun Co., VA and married Violinda Ann Skillman on 1 Nov 1831. Age 50, a laborer, on the 1860 Loudoun Co. census with wife Vilinda (age 45), and children Delia (22), William F. (17), John F. (13), Thomas M. (11), Vilinda J. (9), and Henry Clay (4). Died of bronchitis 30 Oct 1864 in Loudoun Co., VA.

BUSHROD WASHINGTON4 LYNN (JOHN Sr.1, FIELDING2, JAMES FRISTOE3) was born 11 Feb 1842 in Loudoun Co., VA. Enlisted in Co. H, 1st VA Cavalry (Loudoun Light Horse) and fought at the 1st Battle of Manassas. Appointed ordnance sargeant on 28 Feb 1863 and ordered to report to Richmond defenses. He married Frances Hope ALLEN, daughter of Russell W. Allen, on 5 Mar 1863 in Richmond, VA. Assigned to Battery no. 9 in April 1863 and later as assistant inspector of Laboratory Department, Richmond Arsenal. He became assistant superintendent of the laboratory on 21 Sep 1864. After the war he returned to Loudoun Co. and was elected Superintendent of the State Penitentiary from 1891 to 1897. Elected for two terms in the 11th Senatorial District of the State Senate in 1905. Age 38 on the 1880 Loudoun Co. census with his mother Violinda (age 66, widowed), sister Isabella V. Lynn (25, widowed), wife Fannie (37) and children GUSTOVUS (11), RUSSELL A. (9), JAMES F. (8), ISABELLA V. (7), WILLIAM R. (5), and JENIE (2), After wife Frances' death in 1908, remarried in 1909 to Columbia Foster Van Deventer. He died 17 Oct 1917 in Los Angeles and is interred with wife Frances in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
