Special Employment
Snipers find themselves supporting a wide variety of Military Operations. Most SO employment is not very different from Conventional Operations. An ambush is an ambush and a raid is still a raid, although the conditions of these missions are sometimes more challenging.
Special Operations missions like Direct Action, Special Recon, Counter Narcotic, Counter Terror and others can call for a Sniper employment.
Some units, like mine, being a National Guard Unit, may be called to work with civil authorities in times of crisis or civil unrest.
A soldier breaching a building, covered in Kevlar and Nomex,is often aided by Sniper support.
The Sniper doesn't wear Kevlar Armor and helmet. They do not allow for proper stock weld or sight picture.
These two young men have close range covered. "A" is up front with an M4 carbine with a red dot sight, and "N" has a Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun loaded with "00" Buckshot. Knock knock.
