Dream Girl Come True
In restless dreams, I wandered
Through forests green and gold,
Searching for my heart's desire
Or whate'er my fate would hold.
Among the fallen leaves and twigs,
The memories there abound;
I curried and combed them, endlessly,
For the remnants of love I'd found.
At last, I found that undead seedling,
Misplaced so long ago;
Which never had the chance to root,
But yearned for its place to grow.
I held it tightly to my lips,
As tears of love were spilled;
At finding my soulmate there, unloved,
My heart was overfilled.
Wishing sometimes helps the dream
To bring itself to life;
For, now, I 'll replant the seedling;
And beg her to be my wife.
