Maybe Nobody Noticed
A fine line, it is, between sane and insane,
I prove it to myself every day.
An amazing amount of in-betweeners
Always seem to get in my way.
They only slow me down for a moment,
Before anyone else can see;
I'll pretend as if nothing had happened
And act casual as can be.
This morning, I may have topped the list,
While I was walking down the street;
What a perfect time to realize
I had two different shoes on my feet!
It was too late, then, to be casual;
It seemed so silly, I didn't try;
So, I stared at everyone else's feet,
Whenever someone passed by.
I guess it's not impossible
For that to happen to you;
But, I was wearing one combat boot,
And the other, a tennis shoe!
