Dark Wings
Aye, I've felt the madness;
The loss of all faith;
That feeling of empty,
When you think you're a wraith:
Wandering aimlessly,
Roaming a desert
Of human emotion,
Through no lack of effort;
Complete solitude;
You've been left for dead;
There's nothing but pain
Lining shelves in your head.
But I fought back the shadows,
Dark wings of despair;
The bats in my belfry,
Seeking shelter and lair;
One thing brought solace,
And one thing, only:
I'm one of five billion
Who sometimes gets lonely.
