Why I decided to build the Timer Central Web site...

After watching the show threw its first season, I was obsessed with building model replicas of the Sliders Timers....
Unfortunately...my model building skills were far too weak to complete the task...
But by the middle of the second season... and after viewing countless hours of the show on tape.
I had gathered enough video captures to get almost all the details on the timers.
Not wanting those screen shots to go to waste. I decided to build a web page...
But then it struck me.... "Why not make it and interactive site!?!",
Luckily my programming skills are much better then my modeling skills.
And so Timer Central was born.

For those of you that are wondering "just how did he make those things?",
Here is a list of the programs I used in the creation of this site...

Macromedia Director

Adobe Photoshop

AlienSkin Eye Candy and Xenofex

Macromedia SoundEdit 16

Although I have yet to return my model building attempts,

I have gathered a great deal of information about the origins of many of the timers parts...

And so to help any would be Model builders out there on there journey of building their own Sliders Timers...

I present to you ...

Links and info on the timers parts!

1.The original timer was of course built from the case of the Motorola® micro-t.a.c. lite flip phone ,

2.The Egypt world timer (new timer) was built from the RCA® NITEglo Universal Remote Control,

3.The deluxe timer's case was made from a little known replacement Sega Genesis Game pad made by "mad catz"* which can some times be found at Toys R Us.

The push buttons used on the Egypton timer and the Deluxe timer are made by Grayhill *

Due to lack of interest and activity
I'm sorry to say that the Sliders Timer Central Forum was erased by the server
So for the best information on building replica Sliders Timers go to

Xslider13's Website.

Many thanks for visting the site.... and keep on sliding.....

Maki.
