A brief biography of the Rev. David M. Horst. Rev. Horst is the thirty-fourth settled minister of the First Parish in Malden. He previously served as Minister of Religious Education at the First and Second Church in Boston and Director of Religious Education at the Theodore Parker Church in West Roxbury, Mass. He earned his M. Div. degree from Harvard Divinity School in 1999 and was ordained into the ministry by the congregation of the First Parish in Cambridge. Prior to his ministry, Rev. Horst enjoyed a long career in advertising and public relations, arts administration, and event management culminating in the years from 1992 to 1997 when he served as Manager of Project Bread's Walk for Hunger in Boston. Rev. Horst is a founding Member of the Board of the Boston Children's Chorus. He is married to Alyson Gaylord-Loy, a teacher and artist. Rev. Horst is the father of four children, Rachel, Katherine, Domnica, and Darly. His parents, Samuel and Josephine Horst, are members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, Florida.
