Societe Historique de St. Boniface This genealogical and historical society is an absolute must for franco-manitoban and metis genealogy and history. They hold the collection of Father Pierre Picton who passed away in 1963. The collection compiles years of research from Church records as well as oral history from conversations with elders. It consists of several thousand documents all written by the hand of this tireless researcher. In addition they also hold a computerised database compiled over several years by Alfred Fortier and extracted from Metis Script applications in Manitoba and the North-West Territories, 19th Century Census, and Manitoban parish records.
Hudson's Bay Company Digital Collection This is a collection of photographs from the Hudson's Bay Company Museum Collection that is on display at the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. The collection really brings to life the fur trade.
Hudson's Bay Company Archives The Hudson's Bay Company Archives represent a rich documentation of three centuries of history as the Company grew and expanded in the vast territories of Rupert's Land, which eventually became part of Canada. The Company insisted on meticulous record-keeping and ensured most records remained in its possession. Centre for Rupert's Land Studies The Centre for Rupert's Land Studies at The University of Winnipeg facilitates scholarly research and publishing concerning the human history of the Hudson's Bay Company territory, known from 1670 to 1870 as Rupert's Land.
Le Festival du Voyageur Le Festival du Voyageur, at the heart of the continent, is Western Canada's largest winter festival. This unique ten-day celebration, themed on the fur trade era, is held each February in St-Boniface, Winnipeg's French Quarter. It celebrates the "joie de vivre" of the fur traders. It's a place of sights, ceremony and celebration, a reflection of Canada's unique French-Canadian heritage, and a showcase of historic and cultural treasures.

Glenbow Museum & Archives The Glenbow Archives in Calgary is one of Canada's largest non-governmental repositories, is a major research centre for historians, writers, students, and the media. It houses an extensive collection of unpublished archival records of individuals, families, organizations and businesses. The archives holds the Charles Denney Metis Genealogical Collection. Denney compiled information on over 1200 families with roots in Red River, predominantly Metis and fur trade families.

The Forces of Lord Selkirk A site deicated to the history and re-enactment of the "Des Meurons" regiment. The soldiers were war or 1812 veterans who signed on with Lord Selkirk as settlers in the Red River Settlement.
