In the Beginning...
1996

Our first pond was installed in the summer of 1996. It was a preformed pond with a 125 gal. capacity. At the time we installed the pond we knew nothing of ponding. Although we unknowingly violated many principles of basic pond construction, it turned out pretty well. We had never heard the saying, "Bigger is better," but soon came to that conclusion ourselves. The next summer we added a bigger and better pond.

MaryLady had a pond
It was her pride and joy
With plants and frogs
and polywogs
And two fat bad boy koi

It had a sparkling fountain
A tiny waterfall
Rocks around the edges
Loosestrife growing tall

Parrots feather, hyacinths
Chameleon plant so gay
A joy to have and savor
On a sultry summer's day.
