| The Matney Sisters have been singing gospel and country music together since they were children under the tutelage of their father, Harley Matney. Yes, they really are sisters!
During their performances they accompany themselves with guitar and autoharp but also like to feature their close family harmony by singing A cappella. Their dad sings and plays guitar, mandolin and harmonica and accompanies them as often as possible. All are married and have families. The Matney Sisters have taken their harmony throughout the Midwest and perform many Gospel concerts. They have appeared on both Nebraska and Iowa Public Television. Most recently they were selected by the Smithsonian Institution to perform at the Festival of American Folklife at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The girls, along with their father entertained from June 26 to July 7, 1996. The Matney Sisters have released two tapes. A gospel tape entitled, "You Must Know Him" and a country tape, "Our Kind Of Love." |
