I became interested in fiction that deals with the end of society as we know it when I read Stephen King's The Stand. I recently realized that I was not alone in this interest through the discovery of two web pages covering the topic of apocalyptic fiction. I developed my own list through pilfering said pages and from recommendations by friends and librarians. I am sure that some of the titles are not true to the list and will remove them if deemed necessary. A word of warning--reading more than two of these books in succession can effect your decision making abilities--Should I spend money on dinner and a movie or purchase a case of beef jerky.
