FAN FICTION
(various universes)
I've done a lot of stories besides The Real Ghostbusters, and I thought I'd share a few of them with anyone who might be interested. Unless otherwise specified, all these stories were printed in zines, some many years ago. All are Gen. New stories are added at the bottom.
Updated 9/10/05
Tribute. A Blake's 7 Christmas story. Okay, so they don't celebrate Christmas in the Blake's 7 universe. I felt the urge and wrote this.
A Case of Deja Vu. A Blake's 7 story set directly after 'Blake', the final episode of the series, and told from a totally unexpected point of view.
The Silence and the Stone. A very alternate universe story based on The Master. Not from Doctor Who but from the short-lived Martial Arts series in 1984 starring Lee Van Cleef and Timothy Van Patten. Van Cleef played John Peter McAllister, Ninja master, and Van Patten played his student, Max Keller, who usually managed to get into trouble. This time, the trouble was not of his making, and it was far more serious than he could have ever dreamed. Warning: includes male rape scene (non-explicit) and a nuclear war.
A Stitch In Time. A crossover between The Professionals and Robin of Sherwood. Okay, so I know that's a major time leap, but it was helped by the fact that Lewis Collins, who played Bodie on The Professionals, did a guest appearance on Robin of Sherwood.
In the Desert, You Can Remember Your Name. A Quantum Leap/Riptide crossover that's on my friend Sheri's Riptide page.
Limbo. A Blake's 7 story set shortly after Gauda Prime. Avon goes to Iowa. I originally wrote this by hand on a legal pad. Talk about the age of dinosaurs. wonder how many more stories I could have written if I'd had a computer during the height of my B7 mania.
The Way to Go Home. Sequel to Limbo. A Blake's 7/Real Ghostbusters crossover. I started this story about a year or so after I wrote Limbo. Then I went from a Commodore computer to a PC and the file was lost until the summer of '99, when a friend's brother converted a ton of my old Commodore files and gave me back the beginning of this story. I decided to play with it, and this is the result. I couldn't bear to leave the quest for Blake unfinished. And I couldn't resist combining the two fandoms I've written in the most. This story has never appeared anywhere but here.
Empathy. A first season Blake's 7 story. Change of pace from all those post-Blake's.
Masque. A second season Blake's 7 story. A new way to rescue Blake from Servalan's clutches.
Covenant. A Shadow Chasers/Indiana Jones (Young Indy TV series) crossover. Shadow Chasers never got a lot of attention, airing opposite the Cosby Show and Magnum, p.i. but it was created to appeal to the same audience that liked the movie Ghostbusters. So it proved a natural for me to enjoy.
Room at the Inn. A Shadow Chasers Christmas story, complete with ghost.
A Tale of Two Bennys. What happens when our intrepid shadow chasing duo meets a crime solving duo from Chicago. Do Mounties and tabloid reporters mix? A Shadow Chasers/Due South crossover.
Don't It Make My Blue Eyes Brown. Shadow Chasers, a haunted house, and a tip of the hat to Greatest American hero.
A Little Glitch Quantum Leap and a premise I wickedly couldn't resist.
Goodbye Doesn't Mean Forever. The Master meets Hardcastle and McCormick.
Deathwalker. A Star Wars story, set immediately after Return of the Jedi. Can Han come to terms with the Force?
Sentinels. This story is the first in my Stargate SG-1/The Sentinel crossover series that continues with the novellas, The Limits of Trust, and Nor Iron Bars A Cage, which are available in print zine form from Mysti Frank. To see more of my on-line Sentinel stories check out the Cascade Library.
The Land of Broken Dreams. This is another story set in The Master Universe. This is the one where I wrap up a lot of loose ends. After a devastating plane crash, Max Keller goes to Japan to look for answers and to try to save the Master's daughter.
The Luck of the Clan MacKensie A Shadow Chasers story, with a guest appearance by Peter Venkman's father, causing trouble as usual. Posted at Mary Bloemker's wonderful Shadow Chasers page.
The Color of Magic A Master novel with an unusual twist. Suppose McAllister and Max just happen to fulfill an ancient prophecy in an alternate universe? And how else is Max to get there but the usual way -- out a bar window. This is my attempt at writing a fantasy novel. It's also a Blake's 7 AU.
Vex Not His Ghost. A very unlikely crossover. The Professionals meet The Real Ghostbusters. What on earth am I to do with two Rays?
The Keepers of the Flame. A familiar face from the Master's past causes Max to be suspicious.
The Haunting of Hardcastle. A Hardcastle and McCormick story that I wrote years and years ago.
Masters. The Master meets Kung Fu: the Legend Continues. Since both shows were by Michael Sloan, I always had a vague hope that one day Max Keller would arrive in town and run into Caine and Peter. He never did--except in this story.
Home for Christmas. A gen Pros story involving the Pan Am 103 crash. For those who would prefer not to read a story involving a terrorist act in the wake of 9/11, you might want to wait a bit on this story and the next one.
Distant Towers. Planet of the Apes. Not any of the movies new or old, but the old television series. It's now available on DVD, and watching it brought back how much fun I had watching it. Once the concept of this particular story came to me I had to write it.
The Walls of Hope. Another Planet of the Apes story.
For Gandalf. My newest addiction, yet practically oldest fannishly, because I've been into the Lord of the Rings since 1969. I write in the movie universe, and this is the first LOTR story I ever did.
Dreams. This one is set after the Ring has been destroyed but before Aragorn's coronation.
Hidden Paths. A Lord of the Rings/Planet of the Apes novella. Yes, I know, a very strange combination.
Reap the Whirlwind. Another crossover novella, Blake's 7 meets Stargate SG-1
Delivery. A Lord of the Rings story set after Frodo has sailed away from the Grey Havens.
I will be adding the occasional additional story as time goes on. A lot of the non-RGB fiction I did was done pre-computer, and some of it I had to scan in. The complete collection is now scanned. I will consider requests. I've written in the following fandoms: Lord of the Rings, Real Ghostbusters, Stargate SG-1, Blake's 7, The Sentinel, The Master, Shadow Chasers, Airwolf, The Professionals, Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Quantum Leap, and one or two stories in a variety of others. And I'm fast approaching seventy LOTR stories.
