"Tom Sawyer" Page
(Writer for 24 Murder, She Wrote Episodes)

Tom's connection with the Murder, She Wrote television show is as follows:

Tom began writing for the show before it went on the air. In all, he wrote 24 episodes. He was on staff early on, then left to do other series, as well as co-writing the libretto and lyrics for JACK, an opera about JFK - though he continued to write freelance episodes of Murder, She Wrote.

Tom was head writer/producer of The Law & Harry McGraw, the Jerry Orbach spinoff series, then returned to Murder, She Wrote as head writer/producer for the last four years of its run.

Tom created the Seth Hazlitt (Bill Windom) and Charlie Garrett (Wayne Rogers) characters and, in addition to writing his own scripts, generated another 60-70 stories. He has always felt that it was a privilege to write for Angela.

Quote: "There are not many actors of her caliber in TV - and she was a delight to work with, always professional, and exceedingly generous toward her fellow actors."

Tom's first novel, THE SIXTEENTH MAN, will be available in January 2001, a trade paperback from iUniverse.com. A fast-moving suspense thriller that offers a fresh, surprising take on the JFK assassination, Murder, She Wrote fans may remember that Tom wrote a very truncated version of the story in "Dead Eye," the episode that introduced Charlie Garrett.
