SMALLMOUTH - BLACK BASS (Microterpus dolomieui)Achigan a petite bouche, Mon-nuh-she-gun, Green Trout, Bronzeback. There are six color phases of black bass depending on water stain and habitat:
1. From black to dark charoal, in New York commonly found in St. Laurence & Hudson River tributaries, also common in the lower Columbia River Gorge, lower Snake River, Mississippi Darinage and along the north shore of Lake Superior. 2. From beer bottle green to green gold, in New York commonly found in St. Laurence & Hudson River Tributaries, in Connecticut in the Housatonic River Representaion air brush dipiction based on specimin caught in Housatonic River.
3. From light to dark green with 8 to 11 narrow vertical bands in a row along midside. Distictive lines "war paint" on cheek and operculum. In the east Delaware, Susquehanna, Potomac, Connectuicut, Hudson St. Laurence, Shenandoah, Ohio and Allegany drainages. In mid-west Great Lakes and upper Mississippi. About Your Guide

Ray Ottulich has been fishing since he was twelve, from surfcasting off the barrier beaches of Long Island, spinfishing for snapper blues in Jersey's Navasink River, to fly fishing the Catskills and Adirondacks. Living for 24 years in Montana he was senior guide at Dave Blackburn's Kootenai Angler situated on the banks of Montana's Blue Ribbon, (rainbow world record) Kootenai River. He helped to pioneer float trips on British Columbia's fabulous Elk River, and guided floats on the Missouri, Flathead, Clark Fork and Big Hole Rivers. He was president of Kootenai Flyfishers FFF for 15 years, and founding President of the Kootenai Chapter of TU. He has served on Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks' (MFWP) Kootenai River Management Committee, and as MFWP Kids Day fly fishing instructor.

Ray's clients comprise diverse spectrum, from actors Liam Neeson and Aidan Quin, N.J. Nicholas Jr. former CEO of Time Warner, Peter Kaminsky author of "Fly Fishing For Dummies", Dave Engerbretson western editor of "Fly Fisherman", to children. He has written for "Fly Fishing the West", the Blue Stone Press, and the New York Times.

Per wk. 4 anglers $375/angler, 3 anglers $500/angler, 2 anglers $750/angler.
