"Take off my
shield,
carry my sword
I won't need it
anymore;
Find me a sky
give me my wings
fronzen and broken
but free;
Tell them I'm
alright,
I'm coming home,
Tell them I'm
alright,
I am alone,
This war is over,
I'm coming home;
Take off my shame,
bury it low,
I won't need it
anymore;
Find me the sun,
give me it whole,
Melt all the chains
in my soul;
Tell them I'm
alright,
I'm coming home,
Tell them I'm
alright,
I am alone,
This war is over,
I'm coming home;
Take off my pain,
carry me slow,
I won't fight here
anymore;
Tell them I'm
alright,
I'm coming home,
Tell them I'm
alright,
I am alone,
This war is over,
I'm coming home.

THE
SHRINE OF
LEYA:
A
DEDICATION TO
LADY
DAINNAH
AND
LADY
GALADRIEL
On May 25, 1997, the Leya Quest lost one of its most cherished members, both here in the lands
and in the world beyond. Lady Dainnah Alexandyr was one of Elanthia's first halfling women
warriors. Her player, Jill Ramsey, died very suddenly and unexpectedly.
I had known Jill in real life for more than 2 years. We met in what was then called Starfleet Online
on AOL, where she was my senior officer on the USS Omni. We had fun playing together for many months,
both of us being total Trekkers, and then one night a while back, I introduced her to GemStone III.
Like most of us, she was hooked instantly, and she spent many hours here with her new friends. Her
extended family grew in the lands
from her most beloved mother and father, Lady Laranna and
Lord Sylverlock, to various assorted relatives too numerous to mention here. She clearly adored her
"adopted" mother and sister, Lady Myste and Lady Grobinal, as well as her uncles, Lord Jesh and
Lord Bladepoint. Though never married, Dainnah had lovers and children who will miss her wondrous
soul.
Lady Dainnah truly worshipped Leya, and indeed carried out Leya's wishes that her followers perform
acts of kindness and merciful deeds. Many a night she could be found helping out youngins in the
Catacombs or greeting newcomers as they entered the lands. Our Lady blessed her shield one night,
which Dainnah proudly wore until the day she died. During a memorial service held for her at the
Shrine, her shield was laid at the foot of the altar upon which Soulingen rests, and as it began to
glow, it shimmered out of existance. I believe Dainnah now walks with Leya.
So, it is in Lady Dainnah's memory, and my dear friend Jill's memory, that this site is lovingly
dedicated. Peace be with you, my sweet sister.
Lady Galadriel Light was also a friend of mine, as was her player, Kim, who lovingly created the
graphics for this web site. Though never involved in the quest, nor aligned with Leya, Galadriel
was truly one of Elanthia's premiere amazons and an amazing warrior.
I was proud to watch her become a member of the Order of the Silver Gryphons, in which I serve,
and she brought both a cheerful light and voice of reason to our often arduous meetings. Next
time you see Deavon, look carefully at the tiny black wolf carving she wears. It's not only symbolic
of her proud history to the Black Wolves Clan, it is also the one momento she wears to honor her
friend, Lady Galadriel Light.
