About Us
The 79,000 Career and Volunteer Firefighters in New Jersey, who are members of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, are indispensable to the protection of our homes and property, and to the safety of our communities. They often work without so much as basic gratitude, giving years of their lives to a humane civic cause. Their services indeed are invaluable contributions and should be rewarded with respect and consideration.
New Jersey has a unique system for aiding these firefighters and their families by means of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, created over a century ago by state legislation. It's expressed purpose is to maintain a General Relief Fund that provides aid and burial benefits to qualifying members. It is the only known association of its kind in the United States today.
Our Operation, on both the State and Local levels, is administered by firefighters working together for the betterment of the community and for the welfare of our fellow citizens; helping members who have been injured and disabled and also helping the families or the next of kin of those firefighters who have died, either in the line of duty or after devoting many years of service to their community's fire protection.
The Barrington Firemen's Relief Association of Camden County is a local association, of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, established to serve the needs of the members and families of The Barrington Fire Company No. 1.
