The Loughborough Tai Chi School has been teaching the art of Tai Chi Chuan at Fearon Hall for over 14 years. The Yang style form dates back in Chinese history more than 300 years and form varies slightly depening on which Yang family member it stems from. The form practised at the class is the form handed down from Yang Zhuen Duo. In Tai Chi the movements are slow and medative, yet have an unseen
internal strength. This combination leads to improved health and fitness
both physically & mentaly. Although first taught as a form of self-defense,
tai chi is now practiced by millions of people daily as a means of reducing
stress, promoting balance and flexibility, and enhancing well-being. There are three sections that make up the Yang style long form, after learning all the movements within each section these are then put together to make up the whole of the Tai Chi Chuan long form. Completing the form of all three section at the correct speed takes about 30 minutes. Some interesting links to the health benifits of practicing..... Tai Chi.
