Homeville Under Restoration, 1927
Homeville Antique Fire Dept.

ENGINE No. R

The truck you see here started my collection of apparatus.....way back in 1979, and see what happened from there............

This truck was originally purchased by the Homer New York Fire Department. The chassis was delivered sometime in 1927. This truck was assembled by the members of the department from parts taken from the first motorized truck, which was built by American Lafrance, and a pump purchased from the City of Syracuse NY. The unit has a 500 gallon per minute Boyer Pump Co. rotary gear two-stage fire pump. The motor is a Continental Model 16R six cylinder gasoline engine, it is coupled to a 3 speed manual transmission. The motor is equipped with a Zenith updraft carbureator. It has a conventional single plug ignition system by a distributor. This apparatus is equipped with a 300 gallon booster tank. This truck is under a frame up restoration.
